We had booked a concert at Villa Rufolo and decided to stay overnight. Boy we were happy we decided to do it!||||If possible, please book a concert. It is magical to sit overlooking the sea whilst hearing stirring orchestral music. I've been to the symphony in Toronto but this blew everything out of the water! We sat close enough that we could see the pianist's fingers tickling the ivories.||||Ravello is a lovely little town that is very walkable with nice boutiques and some great restaurants. It was a little piece of heaven and better than Capri IMHO.||||We arrived at Ravello by bus from Amalfi and called Da Salvatore to ask their location. Pretty much right next door! We walked down the stairs to the first area where the dining room is located and then down to the next level where the pizzeria is located and down the hall from there where the rooms are located.||||I have some mobility issues but it wasn't too bad. However, if you are in a wheelchair I don't believe it would be possible.||||Pino greeted us and was quite friendly. We requested cappuccino in the afternoon and were happily accommodated. ||||The room for 2 people gives ample space and the bathroom is also a good space.||The bed was roomy and comfy. The room itself was nondescript but I HAD to take a picture of the tiles - gorgeous!||||1 rattan closet contained a mini-safe and mini-fridge. The other closet contained hangers and extra pillows/blanket. There is also a small TV.||||My nitpick would be that the TV didn't work well and the overhead shower didn't work either although the handheld was fine. A pool would be a really nice addition.||||The door opened up to a balcony with a small couch and a bit of a lawn. But the view!! Oh my. What a dream.||||There are other larger and more expensive hotels but this little place served us well and I would definitely recommend them. Another great feature is that it is VERY close to the piazza and concert area.||||Breakfast in the main dining room overlooking the sea and Maiori/Minori was again spectacular. The linens were beautiful. Breakfast was adequate with fresh pastries, yogurt, cereal, jams and coffee.||||They have a parrot who is quite funny. He was quiet upon our arrival but very "talkative" at breakfast crowing out "bonjurno" replete with a NA accent. Too funny!||||I had heard that the restaurant has a very good reputation so after some shopping we went back for lunch. So yummy and while expensive for lunch, worth EVERY PENNY!||||If I'm fortunate enough to return to the area, I would definitely stay at Da Salvatore again and even spend an extra night in Ravello. ...

Read moreThe location Perfect just outside the main bus stop and just 4 minutes walk from Villa Ruffolo museum and large plaza with church restaurants and shops. The staff at check in was very gracious and gave me a room with view and veranda that were sold out when I did the booking. So it helped tremendously to have a wonderful stay and enjoy the view from the room. Now I'm staying in Positano with no view and is annoying as you can't check the weather and if you should run out and take photos or just stay in and avoid the clouds with a morning in bed.l strongly suggest you take a room with cliff views in this entire Amalfi area because that is why you come here, not to go to the beach ( for beach, better go to Tahiti). Thankfully I had this view in my first night there and also could run to visit Ruffolo as next day weather was bad. The room (nr5) was exceptional clean, had spare blankets in the closed and I needed them, had a fridge, dryer, tv and a baby kitty that brightened up the atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious but beware you only get 2 croissants and coffee and some milk if you want cornflakes with milk, so this is all, appears to be standard in Italy. I am used with full continental breakfast eggs cheese salami, well that you won't have here. Luckily I had food in the fridge and survived on that until lunch. But their croissants were delicious warm with apricot jam and the restaurant has the same stunning view to the cliffs and mountains, although they don't let you take the table to "waterfront" as they keep those for the paying lunch people. They have an adorable parakeet who is very talented at all sounds and voices, nice interior design and all clean and nice staff. I would definitely stay here again!!! If possible go when weather forecast is sunshine, because you want to take pictures of buildings and they only look nice lit...
