I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the 7-course “Lasciati Guidare” tasting menu at Ristorante Belvedere in Ravello, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. Each course was a celebration of locally sourced ingredients and masterful technique, beautifully plated and perfectly balanced. The standout for me was the second course, “Langoustine on Excursion,” where the sweetness of the langoustine paired perfectly with mushrooms, peppers, and onion from Vatolla in a dish that was pure perfection. The service elevated the evening to an unforgettable level. Francesco guided us through every dish with remarkable knowledge and passion, while the service captain, from Ascoli Piceno, brought a level of professionalism and warmth that made us feel like truly honored guests. It’s rare to find a staff working in such perfect symphony, and for me, at least on this night, it was beautiful. And then there was dessert — the “Giffoni I.G.P. Hazelnut”. This flawless creation by the pastry chef, with its silky hazelnut mousse, bright Sorrento orange, and subtle coffee notes, was quite possibly the best dessert I have ever had. It was the perfect finale to a magical evening, and the pastry chef deserves every bit of praise for crafting something so memorable. Read moreThere is really only one word capable to describe the whole experience at Ristorante Belvedere: MAGICAL! What a place, WOW! The Belmond Hotel Caruso is in my opinion one of the most beautiful and true luxury Hotel in the world and their Belvedere Restaurant definitely deserves to belong to such a special place. My wife and I went for dinner with our 2 and half years old daughter; we got a very warm welcome from everyone at the restaurant and got promptly seated with a stunning view of the Amalfi Coast. We chose the chef’s selection with meat and everything was just amazing. The Chef himself came to check on us few times during dinner and he even offered a fish dish made with ventresca (tuna belly) of local tuna since I expressed the desire to try one of his fish specialties. The restaurant manager made sure that we were comfortable during dinner with our little daughter and always was checking if we needed anything. If you are in Ravello even just for a day, Ristorante Belvedere is absolutely a MUST! I was celebrating my birthday, and my wife and I opted for various tasting menus - my wife chose the vegetarian tasting menu and I chose a 4-course menu with the suggested wine pairings from the Sommelier. We have dined at various restaurants throughout Europe, including Michelin-starred/plated/reccomended restaurants in Paris, Geneva, and Dubrovnik, but I believe our experience was among the top that we have ever had.
The quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff made the experience delightful and the atmosphere was wonderful. It is rare that you have the opportunity to laugh, joke, and tell stories with staff at such restaurants, and their recommendations were always 100%.
