In a big and touristy city like Rome I can tolerate hotel staff being generally rude to all because of the hustle bustle of the city. But I can't tolerate someone discriminating us just because of color. An instance: he gave us no wine glasses with the jar of wine but others got it without question. He expected us to use normal water glasses for wine too. It could be a simple miss so when I asked him he eyed at empty water glasses and reluctantly went to get the glasses when I didn't follow his clue. With other customers he was speaking in very good English, but when we spoke to him it looked like we were talking in some alien language. Because I suppose as per him, we cannot speak good English. If in this time of the world, people still exist who discriminate you because of your skin colour then I wonder what type of world we are living in and how can we support such people. That being said, it doesn't make sense to say whether a lasagna tastes good or not if you are eating it in a place that stinks. Think of principles before...
Read moreI rarely leave low Google reviews, but this was a truly uncomfortable experience, especially since I'm visiting Rome for the 6th time, but this is the first time with my husband and kids. After reading positive reviews, I took my family to this popular local Italian restaurant known for good food. While we couldn’t make an online reservation, the manager kindly accommodated us and explained our table was available until 8 PM (which we appreciated). However, when we asked for a kids' menu, we were told regular portions were suitable for children. Our three kids (ages 5, 6, and 8) received full-sized pasta dishes, resulting in significant food waste, even though we tried to help finish them. If there’s no kids' menu, they should state this upfront or suggest sharing a single portion. The service was average, neither friendly nor patient. While this might appeal to locals, I’m surprised by its high Google rating. We’ll definitely return to Rome, but...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant because of the star score ... And boy, were we wrong to pick this one. We ate bolognesa and carbonara spaghetti and the waiter brought bread which we didnt ask but thanked for... the bolognesa wasnt bad but it did taste bland and weird each bite we got.. the carbonara absolutely destroyed me, so much grease and it looked like it was made with cream instead of egg and I spent the night in the bathroom. Service was ok, fast...but... when we ask for the bill the 1 slice of bread that was eaten was 4€ (which he brought without warning oh it costs like xyz, or asking if we wanted it and how Much it would be)... I know its a touristy trap stuff like this, but the italian couple next to us got a different treatment and were asked if they wanted actually bread and how mch they would pay. So for now and forever it will be 2 stars, because I dont ever plan on visiting this...
