In short, the food was okay. Service however was not.
Stopped here for breakfast seeing as it was a holiday and the cafe me and my partner initially wanted to go to was closed. I wanted a pistachio croissant so we went inside to check if they had any. There was one last left so I ordered it along with some coffee and my partner ordered a regular croissant. After the waitress put our croissants on plates we were told to sit outside. Ten to fifteen minutes later a waitress comes with two coffees and two croissants. My partner gets their regular and I get croissant that’s definitely not pistachio. The waitress looks at it, visibly thinks (clearly not sure what she brought) and announced that it was chocolate. We told her I ordered pistachio so she goes back inside and comes right back out telling us there is no pistachio which is downright ridiculous since I went inside to order it and the waitress put it on a plate right in front of me. Whatever. We also returned the second coffee considering we only ordered one. I ended up getting the cream filled croissant which was okay. The coffee was also okay but nothing too crazy. Expected better. We got the check without even asking for it, low key making us feel like they wanted us to leave and free up the table. And still it took a long time for them to even take the money. Over all would not recommend. Poor service and the food nothing extraordinary. Stayed in Rome for a few days now and had much better for lower price. I know that 10€ for one coffee, water and two croissants is not that bad but we had the same with better service and better...
Read moreVery poor service. They got our order wrong, despite the fact that we ordered inside and saw our food be put on plates. We were told to wait outside. After waiting for 15 minutes they finally brought our order that was already prior put on the place therefore I really don’t understand what took so long. And they got our order wrong. We ordered pistachio croissant and vanilla filled one, the pistachio croissant was the last one there, yet the lady brought a different croissant that we did not want and extra coffee that we didn’t even order. Not to mention how long everything took. So after we specifically picked the croissant we wanted, that was the last one there, to our disappointment we got a completely different one and were told they didn’t have the pistachio anymore. While still eating we were casually given the check as if they wanted us out of there which didn’t feel very good either. Poor service, long waiting and confusion. I do...
Read moreAfter a long day of travel from Paris, the first place my family and I visited for a meal in Italy was Ciampini Marco Cimpini. We were exhausted, hungry, and looking forward to our first Italian dining experience — and we were welcomed by a very friendly and helpful waiter who made some great recommendations, which we really appreciated as first-time visitors to Italy.
I ordered a spicy salami pizza, a glass of red wine, and a pasta alla Bolognese (a classic meat-based pasta dish). The food, once it arrived, was genuinely delicious — full compliments to the chef for the flavors and presentation.
However, what significantly affected our experience was the wait time. We had to wait almost an hour for our food to be served. Eventually, a waiter explained that there was only one chef in the kitchen, which was understandable, but something that should have been communicated to us upfront. Knowing this beforehand might have helped us make a more informed decision about dining there, especially since we were tired and hungry from traveling.
Overall, the food was great, and the service was friendly, but the delay really put a damper on the experience. With better communication, this could have easily been a 4 or even 5-star meal.
