Haiku — Restaurant in Rome

Absolutely loved it! It is all-you-can-eat. We ordered a few dishes and then a few more. We went at 7:30pm on a Tuesday night and were the second table there. It was nice and quiet. As the night goes on, the place fills up and it gets a little loud because it is so small. If you go on the weekend then you have to make reservations. Not sure about the weekdays but we did anyway.

I loved the mochi (the pink and orange desserts in the photo). It was a little different than what I was use to in the USA. It tasted like the ingredients were fresh and natural. Really lovely.

The cone shaped dessert was nutella wrapped in mochi, rolled in coconut, and drizzled in chocolate. I really liked it, but my husband didn't like it very much. He liked my fruit mochi more.

One of my favorite dishes is the fried calamari. It was fried perfectly! Most over fry it and it becomes chewy, but this was perfectly tender.

There is a spaghetti pasta dish that has katsuobushi on top. It is a dried, fermented fish. It is also called bonito flakes. It is very thin so the heat from the pasta makes the flakes move for a really long time. It is fascinating to watch and makes for a fun dish. Great for video to a friend who has never seen it before. ;)

As for the sushi, the avocado and salmon rolls were my favorite. We tried a lot so I had a lot to reference from. Getting the different kinds just made the whole experience fun....

Personale impreparato alla gestione del locale. Conoscendo la grande richiesta di tavoli prenotiamo dal giorni prima. Hanno brutto vizio di dare due turni x cenare: 20 o 21.30. Nonostante la prenotazione x le 20 fanno sedere altre persone al nostro tavolo. Il primo di noi arrivato 20.05 di sente dire che il tavolo a quel nome sono già seduti... E non lo fanno passare. La resp. di sala non vuole ammettere l'errore e non sa dimostrare che esistano due prenotazione allo stesso nome. Ci vuole rifilare in due tavoli scomodi e di diverse altezze e ci tocca aspettare che si liberi qualcosa x stare comodi come prenotato. Non contenta non fa neanche finire il gelato alla bambina che comincia a pressate affinché ce ne andiamo: il secondo turno aspetta. Scortese nei modi di fare (non siamo in Cina si adegui alla civiltà italiana o non apra attività al pubblico) non sa gestire le situazioni ma solo accusate i clienti di non essere puntuali e precisi. Non sa indirizzare i camerieri che poco parlano e capiscono italiano, creando più confusione e ostilità in sala. La resp. continua a mandare a chiedere se vuoi caffè e se hai finito fino a pregarti di andartene: una pessima gestione di sala arrivata perfino a non far arrivare tutti i piatti ordinati ( menu all you Can eat ). Il cibo e cmq buono e particolare peccato x chi gestisce che fa solo mal presentare il locale e crea ancora più confusione e fastidi in sala, spesso è piena di rumore e folate gelide x aperture porte, senza contare il sentirti dire che devi interrompere la cena x alzarti e far passare la gente x i tavoli messi appiccicati......od avete un ragazzo seduto con il culo sul tavolo affianco che aspetta.... Un consiglio: mandate qualcuno a insegnargli la gestione di sala...
