Absolutely the most pleasant meal I have had in Italy over several trips. Every dish was elevated over what we expected, and super delicious, all at a price that was a great value. For appetizer we had meatballs 3 ways, and the meatballs had a wonderful texture, a bit charred on the outside and delectable on the inside, with 3 different sauce (red, white, and green - we expected pesto but couldn't figure out the green sauce, but it was our favorite). We also had zucchini flower stuffed with ricotta, prawns and lime, delicate and delicious. For our primi we shared Benedetto Cavalieri mezze sleeves with yellow and red cherry tomatoes, stracciatella and crunchy guanciale. The pasta was delightfully al dente, with a delicious red sauce. For our secondi we shared a house special Saltimbocca alla Romana 808, which was medium-rare veal slices coated with crispy guanciale, absolutely perfect. We finished the meal with a wonderful tiramisu dusted with pistachio served in a jar, and delicious fruit tart with preserved cherries, along with espresso. The host was friendly and patient with our broken Italian, and offered us complimentary limoncello after the dessert. Just a perfect meal. Definitely try Hostaria 808 if you can, you will not be...

That’s how we discovered Hostaria 808, and we couldn't have made a better choice to celebrate our final evening in Rome and our wedding anniversary.
From the appetizers to dessert, every dish was crafted with care and bursting with flavor – honest, soulful, and unmistakably Italian. The service was warm, attentive, and professional, and the atmosphere was inviting and full of character.
Even though Hostaria 808 is located just outside the main tourist areas, it's absolutely worth the short trip. A hidden gem that rewards you with genuine hospitality and outstanding food.
A word to the local community: support your neighborhood treasures like this one. Places like Hostaria 808 are what give Rome its true heart and soul.

Before we left Rome, we decided to return—and I’m so glad we did. The food this time was even more impressive. I’m usually not a big fan of pasta, but the clam pasta was outstanding: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and the pasta was cooked just right. The tartare di salmone was also excellent—lightly seared to perfection, with a touch of sea salt and a refreshing mix of mango and passion fruit flavors.
I was truly impressed with the meal. Five stars,...
