Yesterday I had a delicious meal in Cabbulo and the stuff was so nice, I was not afraid to ask for recommendations for sweets. The blond guy who was preparing the meals was unbelievable, he not just named the place, but he showed it n my Google map. I was after at least seven hours walk, when I arrived I was really exhausted so I was just hoping it was worth it. And yes it was!!! The maritozzo and the other pastry filled with some vanilla cream were absolutely delicious. The texture of the bun, the flavours of the cream, not too sweet just right, oh my god . I was carrying them back to my hotel, so I was curious how they survived public transport, but they did. I forgot to take photos, because I was so hungry when I got home after some complications, I took a photo of the empty bag to remind myself of the shop name. I just hope one day I can come back and can eat your Maritozzo again and other magical pastries. I work in an award winner busy bakery in England and I love the pastries what our bakers make, but I will dream about your pastries that's sure.

I wanted to take more photos after I was done with eating but was shocked that it was packed with people !!! A place worth trying

Consigliatissimo! Prima di tutto il locale è sempre fornito di maritozzi, non credo vi troverete nella situazione in cui ci andate e sono finiti (leggendo anche le altre recensioni), io ci sono andata un martedì alle 22 e appena il vassoio è rimasto vuoto lo hanno sostituito con un altro. Il locale dovrebbe essere aperto 24h su 24h a parte due giorni (lun apre alle 19 e dom chiude alle 24) quindi viene in contro a qualsiasi necessità…colazione, merenda, dolce dopo cena. A me non interessava del locale ma esclusivamente del maritozzo per questo do 5 stelle, se state cercando un locale carino tipo un bar per starci un po’ non è quello adatto a voi. Erano invitanti anche tutti gli altri cornetti e dolci vari tipici della colazione, c’è qualcosa anche di salato tipo tramezzini. Per quanto riguarda i maritozzi ci sono di 2 grandezze, il più grande (per davvero) costa 2,30€ ed è quello che vedete in foto. Non sono esperta di maritozzi ma sia la panna sia la brioche per me erano buonissime, quindi a chi dice che è il maritozzo migliore di Roma io ci credo! Non è per niente una trappola per turisti, anzi… rapporto qualità prezzo che non si trova da nessuna parte, se volete assaggiare un vero maritozzo a qualsiasi ora (senza farvi rubare) venite qui, provare per credere! Personale molto gentile. Aggiornamento settembre 2023: il maritozzo adesso è solo di una grandezza ed è quello grande, di venerdì sera a mezzanotte c’era abbastanza fila ma sono stati veloci 🔝

If you're in the mood of trying a Maritozzo, this is the place to go. For anyone who is not from Rome, the Maritozzo is a typical sweet white bread with a deep cut filled with whipped cream. At its best, it is only slightly sweet, slightly wet at the inside. The bread should never ever feel dry and the whipped cream must not be too sweet, it must be fresh and it should never overwhelm the bread.
