Luppolo Station — Restaurant in Rome

I visited this restaurant's sister location, Luppolo 12, last time I was in Rome. I was happy with the wide selection of Italian craft beers, and the service was fantastic. One of the bartenders mentioned that they had a full-service restaurant across town, and that I should check it out if I had the chance, so I added it to my to-do list, and I'm happy I did.

As with Luppolo 12, the service is prompt & friendly and the beer is a fantastic & eclectic mix of styles. But the food... THE FOOD. The menu isn't more than a double-sided page, but you're going to be overwhelmed with choices. As I'm at least attempting to go low-carb (yes, I know beer has carbs, shut up), I went with the steak, cooked medium rare. It was prepared perfectly and served with sides of cole slaw and baked beans that accompanied the steak well. GREAT beers! And literally one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, EVER. Had the Station smash double, it was so good I almost went back for another. The onion bacon whisky jam on it, and the patties, made it one of the best burgers I’ve had on anywhere on Earth. Made many of the burgers I’ve had stateside seem like garbage.

The atmosphere was great and they had both indoor and outdoor (covered and heated) sitting. Easy to get to and great staff. Clean bathrooms and comfortable seating areas. My only issue is that the beer menu was on a big screen and you literally had to go up and walk over to look at it to order, wish they had it loaded onto their website as it made it hard to order from the side of the bar that can't see the projectionist. either way, all great beers, been there twice to drink and all the beers I had were delicious. Mi sono recata al pub dopo aver fatto una ricerca sul web sulle hamburgherie più buone di Roma. Sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita. Eravamo in sei e abbiamo preso come antipasto patatine e in seguito un panino a testa. Le patatine erano le chips, fatte da loro, abbiamo preso sia le cacio e pepe sia le classiche ed erano molto buone servite con due salse:una maionese al lime e una piccante ai peperoni tipo quella dei "tacos". I panini presi che erano grandi e ben farciti e ci hanno decisamente saziato erano serviti con un contorno che precedeva insalata di verza e una piccola cocotte con fagioli e guanciale. I sapori di tutte le portare erano decisi e gustosi. Le birre erano molto buone e hanno ampiamente soddisfatto i nostri palati. I conti sono adeguati al tipo di locale è in linea con i tempi. Personalmente ci sono delle cose che tuttavia non ho apprezzato: non era possibile richiedere un contorno di patatine per il panino ed è per questo che le abbiamo prese come antipasto, inoltre l'unica tipologia di patatina offerta è la chips. Anche per le salse non c'era possibilità di scegliere in quanto loro offrono solo queste due. Una cosa che proprio non ho gradito è stato quando abbiamo chiesto una porzione di patatine a testa e la cameriera ci ha detto "una porzione a testa occuperebbe gran parte del tavolo, sarebbero meglio solo 3 porzioni". Chiaramente lo ha detto in modo gentile, però era quasi un'affermazione più che una proposta e d'altra parte noi sentendoci dire così abbiamo acconsentito. Non ho davvero capito questo atteggiamento e questa strategia di mercato.
