L'Osteria di Monteverde Roma — Restaurant in Rome

Small but perfectly organised with a relaxed and familiar atmosphere. We opened the door to enter and were welcomed by a warm embrace of the staff that led us to our table. By admiring all the old pictures of Rome hanging on the walls we discovered the Daily menu and ordered tagliatelle. Although the restaurant was full, we were never left alone and the staff proved to be highly knowledgeable and heartedly kind making us feel at home. The noodles were one with the creamy sauce that melted on your tongue, and were perfectly matched with raw scampi contrasting with the juicy meat. This harmonious mix was topped with truffle and balanced by the light sauce creating a beautiful culinary experience. This perfect dish was followed by a tiramisu that had a tough consistency, made with a yolk based cream that embraced crunchy biscuits and cocoa powder. It was a heavenly pleasure to try it. Here you will always find new creation in your menu, every single one made thanks to thoughtful experience and knowledge that will give you new insights on the immense possibilities on how to combine and cook Italian food on a new level.

I’m glad that they gave us a table even we didn’t make any reservation, but I would rather they don’t give us a table, so we can enjoy our dinner somewhere else. It’s not that the food is bad, I would say the food are decent.

Almost all the staffs were friendly, but there was one particular staff serving our table who tried to behave like very professional, but not at all.

Firstly, he made a mistake by serving the other table’s dishes to us. (he did apologised) - this is very common, it didn’t bother me at all. We thanked him for their good foods when he cleared our plates, but he didn’t bother to acknowledge. He took away the basket of bread when I was still eating it. (He seem like rushing us to finish our meal) Lastly, also the limit that I could bear, he threw the dessert menus on our table without a single word and walked to another tables.

Be it his bad day, the restaurant doesn’t have enough staffs or we didn’t make a reservation; I don’t think we deserved to be treated that way. I’m very disappointed to end our italy trip this way. I hope this was an one off incident, because I love Italy a lot, and all the Italians that we met along the way are so hearty...

Absolutely AMAZING FOOD！ The flavors are great！ I love the exotic options amongst the traditional, staple type dishes. Atmosphere is beyond compare. Quaint, intimate and cozy. And all the staff are Absolutely amazing. I actually came here my first night in Rome after reading reviews and seeing how close to my Airbnb they were. But they were booked for the night. However, even though booked and busy they let me do a takeaway！ Love that bc I've gone to other places that refused. Too busy, and also acted too snooty. But this, what seems to be a family owned business were just so welcoming and kind. I will always remember my experiences here.
