Guest at Aparthotel Adiago dine at your peril - worst restaurant in Rome!

Garbage, just like the smell from the bins outside.

Having travelled to Italy MANY times, never have I been to such a rude, obnoxious restaurant, or been charged so much for mediocre food.

First mistake - to turn up 15 minutes early - woe betide you if you are staying next door at the Aparthotel Adiago and decide to eat here for convenience. They are SO rude - they don’t need your business - so don’t give it to them.

So having been rudely turned away for being 15 minutes early we came back at 7.32pm - and were told again that we must wait another 30 seconds - which we did because we are polite with good manners. Then we were begrudgingly shown to a table with the most miserable staff you will ever have the misfortune to meet - read the other reviews it isn’t only us.

So they then want to rush your order because bad service is all that is on offer here - needless to say we ordered at our own pace. The menu is very limited - basically over-priced pizza (no kids menu) and iceberg lettuce.

Once the food arrived, what a let down, a bowl full of iceberg lettuce passes as Caesar salad, tasteless pizza and €15 for a plate of undercooked pasta with a few clams.

Where else I ask in Italy will you get UNDERCOOKED pasta? I have eaten pasta all over the world and never had pasta al dente. If they can’t cook pasta right what chance is there of getting anything else right?

Clearly this restaurant has a captive audience with the hotel next door and no other restaurants nearby but do yourself a favour and dine in Rome or anywhere but here. A 10 minute taxi ride will take you right into the heart of Rome €13 will get you to Piazza Navona, great food with incredible ambience and surroundings. Or at least just order a take away and spare yourself from the miserable staff.

Horrible staff, horrible food and horrible runs the next day.

Save your money and the indignity of the worst service in Italy and instead buy your food from the lovely people at the shop and make it...

Riguardo a questo ristorante ho visto recensioni belle e anche non belle. Io parlerò della mia esperienza che ho avuto ieri 23 agosto 2025. Già l’anno ero stato invitato questo ristorante e fui deluso dalla pasta alle vongole. Ieri 23 agosto, altri ristoranti erano chiusi, questo mi sta a 80 metri e mia moglie mi ha indotto a ritornarci anche se io non volevo. Ho preso carpaccio di pollo con sedano croccante, così era presentato nel menù, e alici fritte con salsina di accompagno. Avevo preso il carpaccio di polpo pensando a una cosa semplice e genuina e poi c’era il sedano croccante che non l’avevo mai mangiato, era una invitante curiosità. Quando mi arriva il piatto vedo un uno strato di fettine sottilissime trasparenti del diametro di circa 6 cm di un polpo compresso che per tagliarlo in modo così sottile, spesso circa 1 mm millimetro, doveva essere stato per forza surgelato altrimenti non è possibile ottenere strati sottili 1 mm del diametro di 6 cm, il sedano croccante non erano altro che delle fettine di sedano fresco lunghe 5/6 cm per cui a mangiarle, anche a masticare molto bene, rimanevano filacci aggrovigliati in bocca. Preso il primo boccone ho risputato il groviglio di sedano nel piatto e lasciato il restante. Non si taglia mai il sedano a strisce longitudinali lunghe 6 cm proprio per evitare i filacci. É stata proprio una grande delusione che ho espresso anche al cameriere perché non si possono chiamare croccanti listelle di sedano fresco. É una truffa e l’ho detto chiaramente al cameriere. Non avendo preso il primo, ho preso come altro contorno le alici fritte, ma erano così fritte e strafritte che non sembravano neanche alici ed erano pesantissime a mangiare. Per fortuna che c’era la salsina che era buona e quando è finita mi son fatto dare un’altra vaschetta per rendere più mangiabili le alici ed ho preso anche un bicchiere medio di birra per mangiarle meglio. Finito con un caffè che prendo sempre amaro. Mia moglie ha preso una pasta cacio e pepe, alici fritte e dolce. Mia figlia come me con dolce. Già tornati a casa ho sentito la necessità di prendere un Fernet Branca per il senso di pesantezza di quello che avevo mangiato. Anche mia moglie aveva senso di pesantezza per tutto il giorno. Non abbiamo cenato ed io, per cena, ho preso della frutta. A tarda sera, mentre leggevo informazioni stampa al PC, mi sono assopito e poi caduto come in catalessi. Dopo qualche tempo, mia moglie mi vede con la testa reclinata in avanti e dalla bocca aperta mi usciva del liquido trasparente che si era allargato in una chiazza per terra che poi mia moglie ha asciugato. Mia moglie per farmi uscire dalla catalessi mi ha dovuto strattonare rudemente e ripetutamente. Non riuscivo a parlare, e con i gesti rispondevo come potevo alle domande di mia moglie. Avevo mal di stomaco e sentivo il bisogno di vomitare ma non ci riuscivo. Barcollando mia moglie mi ha accompagnato al bagno, non sono riuscito a vomitare ma ho liberato l’intestino con l’evacuazione e mi sono sentito meglio. ERO STATO INTOSSICATO DALLE ALICI FRITTE

This restaurant is located a little bit out of the city centre but it was perfect for my family and I as we stayed at Adagio apart hotel right next door. This was a wonderful place to eat at as its environment was very friendly and enjoyable. The staff was very kind and helpful and the service was impeccable. There was a variety of different types of foods to choose from but I would have liked more choices of meat as we do not eat beef. But this small problem was easily sugarcoated by the excellency of the desserts! The desserts were exquisite, they did not only taste excellent but they also looked fabulous. We tasted the Puff pastries, the tiramisu and the three types of sorbettos, mango, lemon and vanilla and rum. The food came at a very affordable price compared to the prices of the restaurants...
