Ristorante Dulcis in Fundo — Restaurant in Rome

We had an apartment around the corner and went to the Dulcis on the second evening, just in case of luck. We loved it so much that we went there every evening afterwards.

Different types of tartare, nicely presented and delicious. Pasta both classic Roman (Gricia!) and original (la rosa di mare). The antipasti with seafood is highly recommended (sapori di mare). Of course, pizza couldn't be missing. Crunchy, just the way we like it.

And the staff is friendly, attentive and fast. Very dear people.

The audience is mixed - both locals and the occasional tourists like us. But the nice thing is that you didn't feel like a tourist in a tourist restaurant.

Price performance ratio absolutely appropriate.

When we come back to Rome we are looking forward to spending great evenings there again!

They don't have the dishes that we see in the pictures here. When we asked for lobster with spaghetti from Google reviews and showed him the picture, their waiter suggested a 'similar' dish which was nowhere close, as you can see in the picture, it was a really small portion of risotto with 4-5 pieces of gamberi that we paid 25€ for which didn't fill our stomach. Also, their waiter in a suit keeps hovering over you and gives you no time to decide or eat. He doesn't even know which dishes they have on their menu, he couldn't even suggest one when I asked for something vegetarian (he huffed when I asked that), so I just decided to go with Margherita pizza. This is the place dreams of Italian food come true!!!! The only thing better than the food is the warm, welcoming staff. Careful though, it is not for tourists, it’s 100% authentic without any of the fake flare. The drinks are superb too!!!! We have been to Rome 33 times and NEVER miss a chance to dine and visit. It’s like Grandma’s kitchen went to a culinary academy. I fear this hidden gem will be discovered and it will be impossible to get a table… but they will always make room for us.
