So, while the location is not in the centre of Rome, it is within 7 mins of the Circo Massimo Metro, which will get you to the vast majority of major attractions within 15-20 mins. ||However, for those of you who like me, love to walk and explore places, it's the perfect compromise. Literally, on the doorstop of attractions of such as Circo Massimo, Knights of Malta Keyhole, The Mouth of Truth and the Altare della patria. There are other sights to see while walking from the hotel. ||On arrival at the hotel, the staff there were fantastic in looking after me. I'd had a bit of a long walk, so I was looking a bit hot and flustered, so she immediately offered me water and assistance. ||The hotel itself was beautiful. It was really quiet and peaceful. The room and facilities were superb. I had a robe, slippers, and tea making facilities. Curiously there didnt appear to be a safe, but didn't need one so never asked any questions.||The slight downside side was that there was no breakfast served. However, there is a cafe 100 metres down the road who do a lovely breakfast. As a solo traveller, it was too bad but a family may think differently.|The hotel has a beautiful courtyard which would be perfect for breakfast or evening meals. I guess it must be a purely financial decision.||The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. I have to govd credit to those on duty on 21st ans 22nd May. They were a credit to the hotel.||In summary, a great hotel, great facilities, great value and...
Read moreThe staff is lovely and helpful 24/7. The location is excellent. The rooms are clean.
Unfortunately, I also have a couple of negative remarks to make: We stayed in the presidential suite and really hoped for a superb experience (within reason). The first thing I noticed was that the internet connection is terrible. My phone couldn't connect anywhere in the room at all and my laptop only got the network in one single spot downstairs. No internet in the bedroom whatsoever, which also meant that the huge TV that we were excited to watch before sleep wasn't working due to no internet connection. Secondly, the smell in the bathroom was awful, damp and mossy. I get that it's an old building but it wasn't pleasant at all:(( Finally, and it's a minor thing of course, I didn't understand the Japanese themed design. We came to Rome! Very strange choice of furniture and statues in the room, we found it bizarre.
Honestly, I can't say it was a bad experience, but I wouldn't stay...
Read moreAfter 2 weeks on Sicily, we wanted to hang out in Rome for 2 nights to de-compress and take in a few sites (we have been in Rome before). I am a Marriott guy and truth be told, none of their facilities floated our boat and they were outrageously expensive. My searches for an alternative led me to this hotel - a former Monastery situated near the Coliseum and the Roman Forum.||As my title says, this facility was great. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable (yes, small too, but not cramped). The management (Marco) and the woman on the front desk (Naomi) were incredibly friendly and helpful. The price was right and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.||An added bonus was the proximity of the hotel to Ristorante Ad Hoc - one of the best rated restaurants in Rome and where we had our last meal in Italy before flying out. It was an excellent meal at a very reasonable price.||Thanks again...
