Wouldn't recommend anyone eating here! La fornace is a nice little Italian restaurant without any taste in the food and with bad service! It started when we were seated inside the cold restaurant, instead of outside where we would have preferred to sit, but they didn't ask for preferences. After we sat, an old waiter came and "threw" a breadbasket with bread and grissings, and handed us menus. The food we got was tasteless and not appetizing to look at, at all! After we ate about half our food we couldn't eat anymore of the bad food. When the waiter came, he didn't ask why we only ate under half our meal or offerd us anything els. He didn't care about our experience at the restaurant, or the food we got. After we sat at our table about 15 minutes without the waiter coming and offer us dessert or our check, we had to go and find him. The check we got was, of course, for both full meals AND the breadbasket. We explained to him, that we didn't ask for the basket and we didn't eat from it so we shouldn't be charged. We had seen him take old baskets from the other tables and put them on a shelf for later use. Hustler...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars for this appalling dinner I would. We were shown our table at 8 to a mostly empty restaurant and in the time it took for them to take our order we saw an Italian couple come in, eat their entire dinner and leave.
The “bread” they give you for the service charge was terrible and stale but I was so hungry waiting I had to eat some.
After finally taking our order (at the same time as two ladies who walked in 5 minutes prior) it turns out I and one of the women both got spaghetti alle vongole. First of all, not very flavorful and the clams were not fresh. Second, based on our piles of shells she got 2 to 3x the number of clams that I did.
Finally, we were ignored multiple times when we wanted to pay and generally treated as an invisible nuisance.
As we were walking out we saw another foreign couple being similar ignored.
If you are not Italian get ready to gamble on whether you get a perfectly ok dinner experience or you get to leave angry and cheated of your money.
The food is not even very good, go check out one of the other great places in the neighborhood and save yourself...

The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they really know their stuff when it comes to the menu. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had.
And now onto the food - it was simply amazing! The menu features a wonderful selection of classic Italian dishes, each one bursting with authentic flavor. From the heavenly homemade pasta to the meat dishes, every bite was a joy.
To top it off, the desserts were simply divine. It's clear that the chef puts a lot of love and care into every dish.
