Nick was the best tour guide,he really knew his stuff and kept our two young children entertained along the way. We had a longer wait in the qué to get in but that was due to sheer volume of visitors on the day and some entrances being closed for maintenance, not crown tours fault,Nick made sure we still saw what we paid to see and gave all the information he had to and more,he worked through his lunch break to give us the complete tour before racing off to his next tour. From start to finish crown tours were superb, contacted several times to ensure we had all the details we needed and knew where to meet them and that we had arrived at the right metro stop and in time for our tour, the member of staff waiting at the top of the metro was helpful and pointed in the right direction to check in,the entrance was big and cool, very welcome in the heat of the day,we were directed back out to get our tour sets so that we could hear our tour guide then allowed to sit inside and wait until it started, another member of staff ran back to get our son a better ear piece that sat outside his ear as he couldn't cope with the in ear piece, nothing was too much bother. Mother in law came out as a surprise so we booked her on the only tour we could at the same time as us but unfortunately it wasn't with the same company and her tour was no where near as good, her tour guide kept wondering off and leaving her with the flag and had little knowledge, just used his flip chart to give pointers but didn't engage with his tour group or even finish the tour, had paid for her to also do the palentine hill and Roman forum but they didn't even show her where it was.Crown tours are definitely the best and if you can get Nick(though I'm sure they're all great)then he really knows his stuff. 5 star Nick for definite,he kept telling us that was his name and we would...
Read moreOh my goodness!!! You'd better use Viator in all your travels! They have an excellent service!!! When I book my Mediterranean cruise, I first wanted to have a tour in Rome, so I booked a 2.5-hour tour of what they call “the heart of Rome” with Viator. After booking, I received an immediate email from Viator with complete instructions about my confirmed booking. When that day came, I looked at the instructions and followed everything. It was quick because they made it easy to understand. So I found the meeting place without any difficulties. Oh my goodness, I just showed them my booking receipt, and that staff member assisted me immediately! The staff were very accommodating. Oh my, our tour guide was very friendly and caring. He was very knowledgeable. I was impressed by how he memorized every single detail of the history of Rome. It was a perfect tour ever! I would strongly recommend Viator to all travelers! Viator gave me very well-arranged, clear, and easy-to-follow instructions on where to find the meeting place and get my ticket. It was a very smooth trip for me....
Read moreCareful if they try to change your booking time from morning to afternoon. Most likely you will not complete your tour because of location closures. This happened to us and the very thing that upset us was that the tour guide Max tried to hide the fact that the closure happened until people called him out for it he did say then to go back to the office to request for a partial refund. That would have been an added 1 hour to a already long walk trying to get what we know by now is a measly refund. Max practically just walked us along the fence of the tour location where every pedestrians walk anyways and before you know it tour was over. You don't fly 11 hours, 7k miles from your point of origin and pay for a full price for a tour and get 1/3 of the tour of what you paid for! Its not like Rome was just a few blocks away from where we live. We were refunded a measly amount. Where I come from , you breach an agreement, any decent business will refund you automatically the full amount. Just stay away from MAX the tour guide if you are under Crown Tour in Rome for the...
