Burger Bar Cargo — Restaurant in Salerno

It was such an "interesting" experience!!!!! I m sorry to say it, but it was awfull!!! Everything went wrong from start to finish. I had a chicken burger, the worst I ever had, dry, with no sauce on the bun and the meat ball...I don t know for sure, but it seemed like the frozen ones you buy from the supermarket. It had the "fast food" taste, drowned in overly processed or over used oil, served with frozen fries. I also had onion rings that were over 1 cm wide, also drowned in oil. For the drink i had a sweeeeeet hugo, so sweet that burns. My boyfriend had a bacon burger, taste wise, flavourless! BUT, the most interesting part was the RAT, yes, the RAT that was running on the pallets wall inside. I was lucky my table wasn t on that side, but a few of the unlucky ones that sat there left as soon as they saw it. And unfortunately, the restaurant isn t an open space so...i don t know what to say about their "pet". Nobody said a word about it anyway!

The staff is nice though, and the serving went quick. I could have complained there but i didn t feel the need to do it as there were too many things to complain about

Dissappointing...

Better than I expected. Just over €36 for two burgers, a 0.5l beer, an Aperol Spritz and a can of coke. Very clean and tidy, well presented and modern restaurant with a prompt service.

Located in the centre of Salerno in the main pedestrian area. Easy to find.

My burger was very nice, i had fresh tomato and gorgonzola cheese as well as some crispy bacon. You can actually chose one of four options for your size of burger to make it exactly as you want it from lady, man, superman to the largest, the name of which escapes me for now. You have then 7 or 8 steps for yiur individual ingredients to choose from. But yes, very good, no complaints.

The only downside was that a woman with a handbag dog, which I thought was a guinea pig at first but which was actually a chihuahua jumped out of her handbag, ran straight over to our dog and bit her, drawing blood. Horrible little rat thing for whose actions we didn't even receive an apology from handbag lady. This of course wasn't the restaurants fault and didn't detract from our meal or eating experience.

The burgers certainly filled us up 🍔. The house beer was also very refreshing, after a day walking around Amalfi and...

Two very different experiences. First night had burger, grilled steak (picanha), roasted seasoned potatoes (Texana) and grilled vegetables. Everything was perfect. Second might just an early evening snack to tie us over until other restaurants opened at 19:00. Meatballs were cold inside and terrible flavor. Sent them back to be heated. They came back hot but still terrible. Worst meatballs I've ever eaten. The same seasoned roasted potatoes from the previous night had no seasoning and fried instead of roasted. (Maybe microwave reheated). Tasted old and greasy. Take your chances..not going back during the rest of our one week stay. As a side note a significant number of items on the menu are "seasonal" or just simply not available so don't be surprised if something you like isn't available. Soup is a good example. Service the first night was excellent, we left an em extra tip for our server. Second night one of the coperto was taken off the bill (cold meatballs?) but service was...
