Planning to spend a night in San Miniato, I researched local restaurant options. Brassica Osteria Contemporanea was highly rated across several sources and looked exactly like the restaurant we wanted. Upon our early arrival, Andrea met us at the entrance and immediately seated us. Tomasso arrived shortly afterward and got us started with water, prosecco and bread. We ordered the six course menu and entrusted Tomasso with responsibility for selecting our wine pairings. The creativity, beauty, and flavor of each of the dishes served were exceptional. We enjoyed seeing from our table Andrea preparing each dish, confidently and expertly. The wine pairings were perfect. And Andrea and Tomasso created a welcoming and intimate environment. We were impressed at how seamlessly Andrea accommodated my wife’s gluten intolerance without compromising her dining experience. It’s been a few days since our meal at Brassica Osteria Contemporanea, and we can’t stop talking about it: one of the best meals and dinner experiences we’ve...
Read moreHad the most amazing meal here last night. What a lucky find while on a one night visit - so pleased we had a night here to be able to enjoy this.
Instantly wowed by the “chef spec” trained under Alain Ducasse and Matt Moran … a tiny restaurant with about 15 covers.
Arrived to the chef having to cook and do front of house - how was he not phased by all of this … he did an amazing job.
The menu was incredible - very well thought out bringing hints of Tuscan food without being blatant (in my opinion).
The price was incredible for the talent behind this place.
Just completed 10 days in Tuscany and this had been my favourite all round food experience and we have done some really really good eating. I am also quite used to Michelin and fine dining in the UK … this is right up there.
Thanks so much for the amazing food and experience.
If you are in San Miniato go here you won’t be disappointed (book it is not very big!)
Thanks so much for having...
Read moreOutstanding experience all round. A cosy little restaurant that seats 14 and is run by a team of 3 led by Chef Andrea. The recommended wines from the area matched the courses superbly and the French dessert wine topped things off. None of the 6 courses let us down, they were well balanced and interesting and the only issue was making room for the dessert course. Highly recommend you do the 6 courses and listen to the wine suggestions, they will not lead you wrong. Outstanding value for money, this is the best meal we have had in Europe yet, we have done a few Michelin starred and a number of Michelin recommended restaurants and this is well up there in our top 3 we’ve ever been to. Congratulations on a beautiful, unpretentious dining...
