Alimentari Viola — Restaurant in Santa Margherita Ligure

This is the most unwelcome I have felt in my four days in the Ligurian region. The lady at the counter shouted at me for asking for a vegetarian sandwich. I understand it’s a deli, but came because we saw other reviews with photos of tomato and burrata. She then proceeded to speak rudely about me in Italian to her friend in the shop. Only come here if you want to be treated...

The place is very rustic and authentic, different from the rest of the spots in Santa M, unfortunately the woman working there is incredibly rude and unprofessional. I wanted to sit down with some friends, and she was about to close but instead of just explaining this, she treated me with such arrogance... Really...

Una piccola gastronomia + cucina che non ti aspetti a Santa Margherita, con la titolare gentile, disponibile e calorosa anche con avventori non abituali, una marcata personalità nell'arredamento senza scadere nel kitsch, una vasta offerta di prodotti enogastronomici del territorio (toscano e ligure )di qualità, oltretutto aperta la domenica a pranzo(!). Se non dovesse bastare, c'è da dire che si mangia divinamente, una cucina toscana, casalinga e schietta, a prezzi davvero competitivi e piatti abbondanti. La qualità e la quantità soddisfa i palati più esigenti e gli stomaci più allenati. Ho bevuto un bicchiere di Chianti, profondo e più elegante di quanto mi aspettassi. Alimentari Viola è stata una piacevole scoperta, dettata dal desiderio di uscire dai soliti ristoranti di Santa che ormai, almeno a me, risultano noiosi nello stile e nelle proposte culinarie.
