Ristorante Bagni Sirena — Restaurant in Santa Margherita Ligure

I am really disappointed to have to post anything less than a 5 star review, but I have to warn others against this venue.

The view is utterly wonderful and what would be a fantastic spot for dinner is unfortunately, just a wasted opportunity.

We were a table of 10, so clearly a big chunk of their revenue for the night, yet despite this the service we received was way below average. We had to wait an incredibly long time for both the drinks and food we ordered despite the restaurant being virtually empty upon arrival & when we ordered. There was no attention to detail e.g water not being refilled or checking if we needed anything. No music playing either which was odd.

Most importantly though the food was not even a 1/5. Everything was tasteless, the octopus starter was thinly cut, chewy, dry octopus on a sad bed of cold mashed potato. The calamari seemed to be cooked from frozen despite costing €22 and the mains were equally disappointing with the tuna tartare “main” a tiny portion of dry fish.

We would have happily waited an hour and a half for the food if it was worth the amount we paid for but the poor service and tasteless food still somehow left a bad taste...

Very disappointed in the food, especially because this place is so highly rated. The poke bowl was the most disgusting thing, I could not eat it- and the toppings cost extra? My boyfriend also had the chicken cutlet that was very small and dry as a rock but slightly more edible.

On the plus side: the ambiance was beautiful and the drinks were good and reasonably priced for a beach club. The staff was friendly but completely forgot we were waiting for a table- said 20 mins and it was closer to 40 with following up and asking what was happening. Also my boyfriend’s beer took about 20 mins, I was finished with my glass of wine by the time it came but they said they were changing the tap. The woman working at the bar was very nice and tried to be helpful. Beautiful place to grab a drink but whatever you do...

Not one to leave negative reviews but I must warn people not to come here for dinner. Such a disappointing experience. Terrible service with the waiters , despite being plenty of them and not a busy night for them at all. And the wait time for the dinner was incredibly long. This would have been fine if the food was high quality but the €22 fried calamari was definitely not worth the wait or the price. The rest of the group was pretty disappointed with the rest of their dinners except for the ravioli. Would advise anyone not to come here to dine as there’s plenty of better restaurants...
