My Name is Tannino — Restaurant in Scicli

While the waitress poured in my second glass of wine she suddenly tells me that the table we are sitting on is reservated in 15! minutes. Before we were told we could take our time while eating and drinking (that’s why we came so early in the first place since we knew the tables could be gone fast) No one told us that the table was reservated at 20:00.

After not even one hour they then tell that we suddenly had to leave. It would have been fine if they told us in advance that we only had xxx amount of time until the table was needed. My girlfriend and I both work in the hospitality sector and were both shocked. The waitresses also seemed very embarrased by the situation to the point where they didnt even come to the table anymore.

Either they forgot about a reservation, or they confirmed one last minute while we were already seated which would be just disappointing. We were pretty frustrated and won’t come back...

Was expecting much better given the complication of the booking procedure. Should have listened to my Sicilian friend who warned me it was overpriced and that there were much better eateries in Scicli. Passable food but tiny portions for the price paid. Also, we were four persons seated at a tiny table that was meant for two persons. We were simply crammed. The water was served in plastic cups and we had to eat in tiny chipped earthenware plates. The menu had to be accessed through a QR code on a wooden cube but 5G signal was not good. An amazing eaterie - possibly the best food on our trip around Southern Sicily. All the food is prepared freshly for you, utilising all the best ingredients. The starters were little sharing plates and each one was sublime. The fish and steak were both cooked to perfection. The deserts - chocolate mousse and Panacotta were clearly homemade and very very good. Fluent English spoken and the most helpful owners, nothing was too much trouble and service always with a smile and they took time to explain the menu.
