this was an extremely cosy restaurant in the heart of the town. this place might be easy to miss, but make sure to look out for their signs.
a small restaurant owned by 2 handsome brothers, their pizzas look as good as how they look! (oops) and of course, they taste so GOOOOOD it was the best ever that I have tasted in Italy for now! the crust is ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ - extremely crunch and to die for.
we had the bruschetta pizza and the pesto one and we loved both! and they weren't stingy with the meats at all.
we also had the privilege to try the ravioli that were off the menu - and it's so different from the typical ravioli! and of course, the minced meat they gave were so generous.
and of course, we love talking to one of the brothers so much!! highly attentive (offered to help us take pictures) and he noticed that we were Singaporeans - and very nicely shared his chilli (Asian approved - it's really spicy) with us! and also exchanged notes with us, and shared some cool stuff about Italy with us.
we had a very good lunch here - and enjoyed both the food and the service!! to die for!! 10/10 recommend
even better to visit the "sea" nearby...
Read moreThe place is really nice and cozy. The food quality is amazing. The pasta is fresh and extremely tasteful. There are not many seating options outside but that even improves that feeling of togetherness when you are a group of persons. The waiters/owners are really nice, providing clear explanation on the different meals on the menu. And if you don't speak Italian, that's not a problem the owners will take all the time required to explain in English or French. I did not try any other language. What else? Il Bargenollo is the name of the wind that blows from the mountain towards the town we were told. Ah one more thing: if you truly wish to have a meal that's not on the menu, they are willing to get it from the neighbouring places for you. That's customer obsession at its best. Last but not the least it aas a delight to interact with Cristiana who gave us some insight about not only the ingredients and the food but also about the region, the film festival, her passion for fishing. We have enjoyed the time we spent there and can only highly...
Read moreFor anyone looking for a local Italian experience this is a great place. If we could give Il Borgonello a 10/5 we would. This place is small but so authentic Italian. The mozzarella they use is local and so creamy. We had a caprese salad and it was excellent. The Pinse (not pizza but similar) is crisp on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside with premium toppings. We had a bottle of their house white (which turned into two) at 16 E and was very nice. Their burrata and house made pesto is to die for. Not a stand out place on the street because it is small but stand out on quality and experience. We don’t speak Italian and we had very personal and attentive service including suggestions for further down our trip. Excellent experience for...
