Miramare Suites — Hotel in Sestri Levante

Good: Clean, updated, easy (though slightly inconvenient) check-in at the main hotel down the block. Good size room that fits two people, luggage, and then some.

Not so good: -I was hoping the reviews of the mattresses being uncomfortable were overblown but it is true. The bed in 702 is terribly uncomfortable. I let them know after the first night and I think they put another topper but I can tell it is still extremely uncomfortable. Sound from the street below is quite audible. If there are people hanging out late, playing music, etc., you can hear it. There happens to be a tent and DJ setup down the block, making this not peaceful at all. While the hotel can do nothing about the music being played, they could have have better windows. Location: It's my first time to the area so I didn't really understand the layout but this room is overlooking some scrappy looking stuff across the street. Looks like the less tended to backside of the town. Facing Baia del Silenzio would be better.

Overall, I'm disappointed with the value for the cost. at $340+ per night, I'd expect a comfortable bed and quiet environment given how the property is presented. I also see that the rooms are going for half the price tonight of what I paid originally.

If the bed and sound won't bother you, this is fine for a nice sized hotel room.

Easy fix folks, get a new...

Check in scheme is weird and you have to make contact at the desk of the nearby Miramare Hotel and Spa or call ahead. When you do it's easy and the staff are VERY polite and accommodating. Parking is separate and on the east side of the white church in a secure garage and they'll even do it for you. The rooms are accessed by stairs or (small) elevator and are very well appointed. Fridge, cooking utensils and a stove, lovely lighting and very well thought out. The blackout curtains, amazing patio with views abound, and a very friendly staff make it that much more pleasant. ||But, and this is a big but, the bed while looking very modern and comfortable is extremely firm. Like, extremely. We couldn't sleep for the most part since it felt like a large plywood slab. That factor alone kept this from being a nearly perfect...

Wir waren im Herbst in dieser Suite mit unserem kleinen Hund.|Positives: Das Reinigungspersonal macht seinen Job am Besten, sehr freundlich und immer sauber geputzt.|Negatives: Das Bett. Wir haben wie auf einem Stück Holz geschlafen. Das Bett war so hart, dass wir jeden Morgen mit Rückenschmerzen aufgewacht sind. Zudem ist das Schlafzimmer auf die Innenstadt-Seite gerichtet und mit offenem Fenster war es schlicht unmöglich einzuschlafen, da der Lärm des Restaurants von unten extrem zu hören war. Der Balkon war auf der Website mit 2 Liegestühlen fotografiert, vor Ort waren leider nur 2 Sitzstühle vorzufinden, die knapp auf dem winzigen Balkon Platz hatten.|Das das Hotel selber keine Hunde akzeptiert auf den Zimmern, haben wir diese Suite gemietet-für viel Geld, wie wir zum Schluss feststellen mussten.|Bei der Reservierung wurde uns nicht mitgeteilt, dass wir den Hund nicht zu unseren Liegen am Strand mitbringen durften.|So mussten wir dann nichtsahnend vor Ort erfahren, dass wir mit Hund nicht erwünscht sind. Und dies in einem von oben herabgelassenem Ton des Chef de Service, des Bademeisters und noch zwei anderen Angestellten. Aber Achtung! Diese Regeln gelten nur für Touristen nicht aber für einheimische Gäste|Denn am drauffolgenden Tag, gab es zwei Italiener, die mit Hund das Zimmer im Hotel selbst (nicht Suite) gebucht haben und die Hunde frischfröhlich am Strand herumsprangen und den ganzen Tag bei den Liegen waren! (unser Hund, der 14 Jahre alt ist und unter dem Liegestuhl schläft wurde aber nicht akzeptiert).|Die einheimischen Gäste wurden vom ganzen Personal mit Handschlag begrüsst-Stammgäste oder Freunde des Hauses?!|Als ich das dem Bademeister und der Rezeption gemeldet habe, geschah gar nichts. Keine plausible Erklärung. Fazit: Mein Mann oder ich waren abwechslungsweise mit dem Hund im Zimmer, so dass wenigstens einer für zwei Stunden an den Hotelstrand konnte und das Meer sah. |Auf solche Ferien können wir in Zukunft verzichten. Auch auf arrogantes Personal, welche ihre Regeln selber machen. Schade, für diesen schönen Ort. Ich habe nach den Ferien dem Hotel schriftlich meine Kritik geäussert und wen wunderts, bis heute keine Antwort erhalten....
