Nannini — Restaurant in Siena

Overrated, unwelcoming, and not worth the visit.

I really didn’t enjoy this place, mostly because of the unfriendly staff. From the moment I walked in, I felt looked down upon—like they were doing me a favor by serving me. That attitude stayed with me even as I ate a pistachio éclair, which was actually quite nice. Not exceptional, but tasty and well-made.

The coffee, on the other hand, was truly terrible.

The seating is uncomfortable—chairs you can’t even lean back in—and the entire sitting area was nearly empty, which isn’t surprising once you understand their strange system: if you want to sit down and eat your dessert, you pay a different price and go through a different process than if you take it to go or eat standing up. It felt needlessly complicated and unwelcoming.

To be honest, the whole place felt like a tourist trap—pretentious, overpriced, and lacking in genuine charm or originality.

여기 절대 가지 마세요. 인종차별 쩝니다. 유럽생활 2년차에 이 정도 짜증나는 인종차별은 처음 받아보네요.

디너 레스토랑 전에 30분만 있으려고 갔습니다. 들어가면서 안내를 안해주길래 앉아도 되냐고 물었고 괜찮다해서 앉았어요. 메뉴를 안주길래 바쁜가보다 싶어서 기다리다가 시간이 없어서 나간 좌석 메뉴판을 가져와서 봤죠. 그리고는 또 한참을 기다리는데 저희보다 늦게 온 테이블 주문 받고 음료와 음식까지 나가더군요. 금발 여자웨이트리스는 나간 좌석 치우고 있고 남자 웨이터 둘은 바빠보였습니다. 기다리다 못해서 주문하려고 말을 걸려고 했더니 기다리란 식으로 말하더군요. 인지는 하고 있다 싶어서 또 기다렸죠. 그 사이에 테이블 하나 더 비워지고 저희 주문보단 그거 청소 먼저 하더군요. 그리고는 거기도 백인 손님들이 앉았고 거기 먼저 메뉴 또 가져다 주고 저희한텐 또 기다리란 식의 제스쳐. 그리고는 또 다른 좌석에서 뭐라하는 이야기 들어주고는 새로온 손님 오더 먼저 받는거 보고 빡쳐서 그냥 나왔네요. 총 25분 가까이 주문 메뉴판 없이 기다렸네요. 어차피 시간 떼우러 들어간거긴 하고 30분 시간 떼우고 화장실 이용도 해서 문제는 없는데 기분은 더럽네요. 제 성격 좋은 일본인 남편도 유럽 2년 살면서 이런 인종차별은 처음이라고..

I bought panforte and ricciarelli from this place. I didn’t sit and order so no comments on service but the people working here are friendly and helpful. You may get confused by so many beautiful looking products here and could use some help😅 I am not a fan of panforte because it’s intense (remember the paper under it is edible, too) but ladies and gentlemen: RICCIARELLI.
