Osteria Pizzeria La Piana — Restaurant in Siena

Hands down one of the worst “restaurants” I’ve ever stepped into. Calling it a restaurant is already generous — it’s more like a stage where the staff pretends to work while actually doing everything except serving guests.

We never got menus, nobody bothered to take our order, and the waiter looked like he would rather be anywhere else. Instead of serving customers, he was pointlessly decorating empty tables as if furniture needed more attention than paying guests. The sheer incompetence is almost impressive.

I left for Trattoria Fonte next door, and the difference was night and day — real hospitality, real professionalism, and people who actually care that you’re there. From Trattoria Fonte, I could literally see this lazy waiter outside his own restaurant, gossiping on the street like a bored teenager instead of doing his job. On my way home, I crossed him again, and he didn’t even have the dignity to look me in the eye.

This is the worst meal we have had in 14 days of travelling Italy. Poor quality ingredients, slopped together into disgusting fare. Save your appetite and money and eat elsewhere. Worst meal by far, keep walking there are many excellent restaurants, stay away from this uninspired tourist trap. This place was recommended by one of my Italian friend. Total there is 7pax of us, total amount spent on the food plus a bottle of wine is about 136€. Is a little pricey for a osteria as it charges 10% service charge and 1€ per pax occupancy. Food is great. Though i don't take beef, but for beef lover you got to order the florentina beef as mentioned by all my friends who dined with me that night. It is so well done and taste so good. Pizzas as usual were generally good in most itialian osteria. Pasta flavor can be improved. The service from the staff is not bad but can improved further.
