Sad that Chinese food is so poorly represented at this place. The upstairs had a pungent unpleasant odor, cramped & clausterphobic. Downstairs was much more pleasant.
Service was not the greatest but they were present. To the servers - I am sorry if I made you feel if you had to pay attention...but that is how s e r v i c e works.
We are a mixed family...NYC area american born & shanghai born Chinese....we know our Chinese food well enough and our belts are long enough to demonstrate we enjoy eating.
Soup dumplings were terrible - tiny, no broth in side, a very generic vinegar, no chive, no spoons for eating dumplings with not little spoon for adding vinegar...just not right.
Mapo tofu was mediocre and small portions, chicken dumplings quite generic but what should you expect for a place calling itself "Ravioli Wang" pigs knuckles were nondescript.
Spicy fried chicken wasn't spicy but texture was decent.
Fyi for Americans travelling in Italy, sprite is diet (aspartame) no matter...
Read moreI loved this place! It is just outside the walls of the city and very easy to get to. We didn’t arrive until 9:30pm and were offered a menu in English (Grazia!) and a knife and fork (my husbanded can’t use chop sticks). We ordered 2 dumpling tasting menus, number 1 and 2, on pan fried like pot stickers and one steamed. So tasty! My husband was so happy to get a super-sized Birra Morettie. I got a 1/2 carafe of the White House wine. We enjoyed the drinks very much. The total bill was not so much, but the atmosphere was perfect! We sat in the front dining room where I watched 2 women make dumplings. Many families emerged from the back dining room to pay their check, so the place has plenty of seating. The front, outside seating was being used since the weather here in Siena is chilly and raining in late May. I would highly recommend...
Read moreWe longed for Chinese food while on our trip to Italy and were pleasantly surprised to find 饺子王 a bit outside of town, by a lovely alley. Service is friendly but curt. The menu has many different Chinese classics apart from the dumplings that the restaurant takes it’s name from. We ordered spicy potato cuts for starters, soups for mains and Jiaozi/ dumplings to see if they perform. Everything was normal/ good, but not exceptional. One thing that put us off a bit was the lack of Chinese staff in the kitchen. But maybe we’re just biased here?! The matcha tiramisu that we took to go was a nice finish, do try that. Would come back if...
