C'era una volta L'osteria — Restaurant in Spoleto

Tonight I ate here with a great friend of mine. The food was fantastic and the waiter, the chef, and lady who was managing the place, Rita, were all very kind.

We had two of the pork dishes (from the "secondi")—mine was the Stinco di Maiale and my friend had the Porcona—a lightly breaded pork chop. while we waited, they brought us some bruschette drizzled with olive oil, those were delicious!

The desserts are almost all made in house by Rita—she said she makes them all except for the Profiterole (which I normally love to order).

There was a big dog with the couple next to me and the restaurant owner(s) had a cute little dog—she only barked a couple of times. Both were well behaved—but I'm not a big fan of having pets around while I'm dining out— so that takes a little away from the atmosphere in my opinion—just to be honest.

We tried the local Amaro Viparo as a digestivo and some of the Crescionda for our dessert (a local Spoleto specialty). It was all delicious and I recommend this Osteria for sure and the prices...

way too overpriced for what it is. the truffles tasted like nothing, if they even were truffles; spending 15€ for what essentially is two little slices of bread with a little scrambled egg on top of it is extremely disappointing. in general, the portions tended to be on the smaller side. our spaghetti carbonara were way too salty, to the point where it was almost too bad to eat. the bread on the other hand completely lacked any salt. the staff was very friendly, but overall it wasn't...

Peccato non poter dare qualcosa meno di una stella. Abbiamo cenato il 26.8.22 prendendo due antipasti ( carpaccio vegetariano, piuttosto insipido, e fiore di zucca ripieno su crostino, buono) e due stringozzi al tartufo. Abbiamo aspettato 45 minuti tra l'antipasto e l'arrivo degli stringozzi che si sono rivelati scotti al limite del commestibile, sapevano solo di aglio e sale, il tartufo era rappresentato da una (misera) granella (viene ottenuta dai tartufi di scarto) che non dava alcun profumo o sapore al piatto ma solo una fastidiosa "croccantezza". Nonostante la fame nn sono riuscito a mangiarli tutti. Il peggio è che quando abbiamo fatto garbatamente notare l'ingiustificato ritardo (il ristorante era mezzo vuoto) alla cameriera non c'è stata nemmeno una parola di scuse. Poi, aspettando di pagare il conto (56 euro), lo chef, che fumava una poco meritata sigaretta sulla porta, mi ha chiesto come fosse andata, alla mia smorfia di disappunto ha chiesto spiegazioni e quando gli ho riferito l'accaduto non ha speso una parola ma ha continuato beatamente a fumarsi la sigaretta. Quando all'uscita il titolare mi ha chiesto se fosse andato tutto bene si è ripetuta la stessa scena con la differenza che al silenzio è stato sostituito un confuso balbettio all'indirizzo del personale. Evidentemente quanto ha affermato in risposta ad alcune recensioni negative ricevute su Trip Advisor (che purtroppo ho letto soltanto dopo) erano 2...
