Ristorante Bar Caffè Collicola — Restaurant in Spoleto

My daughter had breakfast here each morning during a study abroad trip. She loved the pastries and the lady working there. Near the end of her time it Italy, one morning the lady was trying to tell my daughter something. My daughter didn't understand. She returned the next morning (her last in Italy) for her usual breakfast and to say her goodbyes. THRe cafe was closed. The Shop owner was trying to say goodbye the day before but my daughter didn't understand. She was heartbroken that she didn't have the chance to say goodbye properly. Caffe' Collicola enjoys an excellent location on the namesake square, just opposite the Collicola Palace and Museum, and offers a nice terrace overlooking them. It is a simple restaurant, apparently family run, with a very basic furnishing and layout. However, the quality and choices of food, compared to the price and location, are more than acceptable. While this is not a fancy place, it is ideal for a quick and decent bite while visiting Spoleto. Service is friendly...

Penso che le recensioni precedenti facciano riferimento alla vecchia gestione del locale. A fine aprile 2019 , quando ci sono stata io, a quanto mi è stato riferito ha cambiato da poco proprietà ed è completamente rinnovato. Ha una piccola sala per le consumazioni del bar e una più grande come ristorantino, ben arredato e con personale molto gentile. Il menù è abbastanza vario, si sono scusati perché non ancora completato visto che avevano aperto da poco. Comunque c'era una buona scelta di antipasti, primi e secondi. Immancabile la crescionda, dolce tipico del luogo. L' unica pecca la mancanza totale di contorni, penso non ci voglia molto a inserire delle patate o un po' di verdura ripassata presenti in tutti i ristoranti. Mio marito per questo ha rinunciato al secondo , non sapendo con cosa accompagnarlo. Purtroppo la sala era freddissima, dopo che ci siamo seduti hanno acceso una stufetta che è servita a poco e abbiamo cenato praticamente congelati. Evidentemente non sono ancora ben organizzati.
