Il Matto — Restaurant in Syracuse

Never have I ever tried a restaurant based solely on a goggle map’s recommendations; I consider myself a foodie and as such always research destinations prior to travel. However, it so happens that we were in the mood for Pizza and this highly rated place was near our hotel - I decided to give it a shot merely because the reviews stated that locals go there. Wow!!! The pizzas were amazing, real Italian (puffed crusts and soft center with the highest quality ingredients and top notch combinations). When we arrived the place was still empty - I guess because of the weekend and the heat people here eat late - the place was full by the time we left, not a single tourist on site, in fact the menus were in Italian. I never bother to write restaurant reviews here, because I don’t use them myself but I felt compelled to do so. BTW the decor was nice, somehow better than...

Invitato mio figlio ad un compleanno, abbiamo deciso di fargli compagnia sedendoci ad un altro tavolo.. Appena entrato il locale mi ha fatto davvero una buona impressione, i tetti alti in legno sono molto belli danno un senso di rustico ed elegante al tempo stesso, anche l'angolo bar è molto bello, nulla lasciato al caso. Abbiamo fatto un giro pizza assaggiando solo qualche pizza, dalla semplice 4 formaggi alla capricciosa, poi parmigiana, margherita ed una pizza speciale con fonduta di parmigiano cioè la numero 23.. Nel dettaglio, la pasta della pizza in genere è sottile ed è molto gustosa (tipica pizza napoletana) , questo spessore spesso comporta che, nelle pizze con salsa non resta compatto e a qualcuno potrebbe non piacere... Nella parmigiana, le melenzane a dadini fritte cosi per come sono state presentate portano ad abbassare il giudizio complessivo della pizza stessa.. La quattro formaggi non mi è piaciuta per il fatto che non sono riuscito a distinguere la diversità proprio dei formaggi aggiunti..La pizza numero 23 invece si è distinta sia visivamente che per l'accostamento dei sapori. Il servizio per un po' ha vacillato, bisogna servire sempre i bambini prioritariamente, i grandi possono aspettare a mio avviso: mia figlia seduta al mio tavolo ha avuto la sua. margherita quando la mia era già terminata, stesso discorso per un'altra bambina seduta al nostro tavolo che aveva chiesto una margherita con wurstel. Mio figlio, seduto con il festeggiato e compagnetti al seguito, com'è giusto sono stati serviti correttamente e puntualmente., potendo consumare anche lui la propria pizza senza glutine. I visited on a Saturday evening in November 2023, right at opening time. Even though Google lists the opening time as 6 pm, I was seated at 6:30 pm. They have a numbered menu, so you essentially point to a number and order the item.
