We had an outstanding experience at Avec55! As someone who does not consume some of the major allergens, it can be very difficult to eat out- especially here in Italy. I stumbled upon Avec55 while searching for restaurants and reached out to Chef Raoul via email to see if he could accommodate my dietary needs. He was very quick to respond and assured me that he could prepare a meal that fit all of the criteria (vegan, gluten free, no soy or corn). Upon arrival, we were seated right away and were the only couple in the restaurant for the first hour or two. This made the experience that much more personalized and special. The chef took the time to translate the entire menu in English and provide recommendations- also very appreciated! We chose the tasting menu and every single dish exceeded expectations. Both the vegan and vegetarian options were phenomenal. The biodynamic wine we had was also a huge hit. And one of my favorite, unexpected delights were the digestives after our meal. The homemade limoncello was so good we bought some to take home. I can’t recommend Avec55 and Chef Raoul enough. We ended up dining here two nights in a row and are sad to be leaving Tivoli and this restaurant behind. Do yourself a favor and give this a try!

It was the last day of our business trip and we were dying to get out of Rome and head to tivoli. We were quite disappointed with the food we had in Rome, so we came to look for an authentic Italian dinner. For only 50€ we had the most amazing and beautiful plated menu. The restaurant is a very cute intimate space where the chef makes the dishes for you himself. You really feel his whole heart put into all of the dishes. A lovely older Nona serves all the courses to you and it truly feels as though you have been welcomed into the home of the local Italians and fed a home cooked meal. As an Italian myself, it really felt like I was being welcomed into my relatives home. The pasta dish was so deeply satisfying. The whole experience was so authentic, yet also very innovative without taking away the essence and purity of Italian cuisine. It was all very simple and very just. Well done! Come and check out this restaurant, if you don’t want a tasting menu you can also order à la carte, but I highly recommend the tasting menu! Also the chef seems to be very open to working with dietary restrictions, we don’t have any but he definitely asked and would have worked around it.

This place is a MUST TRY if you are in Tivoli! I recommend the omakase (the chef serves up several courses of their choosing from appetizer to dessert)! Each course was a delight! The ingredients were all very fresh and the dishes were inventive but also respect tradition, filling (very generous portions) and above all: delicious! I believe they make just about everything homemade, including the piping hot herby bread, fresh pasta and the limoncello. The service was perfect, truly wonderful hospitality and attention to detail.

In senso positivo, fortunatamente!
