Learn moreThe food was great, the ambiance was modern, but the service was lacking. It's a fantastic meal and the flavors are amazing, but for $100+/person, you'd expect your food to come on time and for the servers to be at the top of their game. The service and attention we started with quickly deteriorated after our first main dish. The restaurant filled up and suddenly our waitress became a waiter, then the host, then the bus boy, and so on and so forth. We waited around a bit long for our main course - the amberjack fish and roasted beef was divine - which by then we were starting to get full from waiting.
The flavors here are great. Some dishes shine in their simplicity, some in their complexity. One or two were a bit much or a bit shy, but for 95% of the food, it was beautiful and delicious. Compliments to the kitchen for what they create.
Unfortunately, besides the service, the one caveat is that the tiramisu will not blow your mind. I heard that perhaps it's due to new mgmt not being as interested in making it the restaurant's main dish. Anyway, we've had better tiramisu. Not 100% if the mascarpone had enough egg...
Read moreClaim to be where the tiramisu was invented, expected it to be a homey cozy kinda of establishment but turns out to be a middle to high end restaurant. The restaurant has no problem with people just coming and sitting down for a tiramisu and a drink, very friendly waiter that speaks decent English.
Ordered 2 tiramisu for my partner and I, a macchiato and a glass of white wine; Tiramisu is not one with strong flavours, instead of coffee liqueur they use quite a mild tasting coffee, impeccable texture for the egg cream and rich cocoa. This is a tiramisu perfect for people who doesn't like coffee or desserts that are too sweet, along with a coffee makes the perfect afternoon.
Also one of the best coffees ive had in my stay in Treviso, and a wide selection of house wines.
The restaurant is located within a cave of buildings walled with 3 sides of the classic colourful italian architecture, a quiet corner of the city, immaculate atmosphere and definitely...
Read moreUpon arrival, we discovered that the food options here are basically just snacks, not a full meal. We were surprised because the online photos suggested they had dinner options. Perhaps they changed their menu recently. We really wanted to try the famous tiramisu, so we stayed.
We were a group of three. Two of us had the ham and focaccia, and one of us had the hummus. The portions were good as an appetizer or snack. We each had a glass of wine as well.
The tiramisu was good. In my opinion, it wasn't great. I have had better tiramisu. Perhaps this tiramisu is supposed to be similar to the original that was served a long time ago.
This tiramisu was the main reason we took a day trip to Treviso. Treviso is a beautiful city, it was definitely worth it to come here, but if I'm being honest, the tiramisu wasn't as good as I'd hoped. It was a bit dry. Again, maybe the goal isn't to make the best tiramisu, but the most authentic. But 9€ a slice is a...
