We stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to have dinner and it proved to be a goldmine. We were greeted very friendly and invited in, getting a choice between fish and meat dinner. We selected the fish and never regretted it. Excellent al dente Pasta with mussels in a tomato sauce with a very fresh salad and great bread on the side. This might already have been enough but afterwards we also got fried sardines that tasted exceptionally well. Rounded off the evening with an espresso and a digestive and all for a more than reasonable price and extremely friendly service. If you are in the vicinity - go there by any means! There may not be a fancy garden or a tourist menu but you will feel more than welcome and the charming guy doing all the work is worth the visit alone. We are staying in a holiday apartment nearby and went there for dinner last night because of the good reviews. The place did not disappoint. We shared an octopus salad that’s definitely big enough for two as a starter. Our respective spaghetti dishes (with seafood and with clams) tasted like fabulous home cooking - it sounded and smelt like it, too, because the kitchen isn’t far away from the restaurant in this small, local establishment, which added to the homely experience. Many locals came while we were eating, both for beer and for food. At the owner’s insistence I had a small flask of their house white. It was fabulous and at a great price. When my wife could not finish her pasta, they packed it up for us to take away. The only criticism is that they did not give us the freshly ground variety when we asked for black pepper. A true gem if you are looking for an authentic Italian experience. I did try and make reservation for same day and it said they would respond via email. As it became later in the day with no response I just called and the gentleman was so nice and said yes come in.
