I Tullipani — Restaurant in Tuscania

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the agriturismo where we staying for 3 nights and it turned out to be an excellent recommendation for us. We ordered a “secondo” each and loved what we had. My wife had the salmon with potatoes and I had the ‘tagliata’ with rucola, cherry tomatoes and slices of grana cheese. Both were very good. Dessert was divine. My wife had the semifreddo and I had the tiramisu. The tiramisu was very good and just so you can understand, I always order tiramisu when the restaurant has it and I was not disappointed at all. I’ve had some pretty bad tiramisu in my time but this one was great. And the portion was generous. See photos. Just to add to this review, we went another day for lunch and of course the food was great but the dessert I had was the best I’ve had in years! It’s called ‘cestino’ with chocolate, is what I asked for and it was absolutely divine! If you like dark chocolate, you’ll love this!...

In fairness we are from Vancouver Canada, home to some of the best seafood restaurants in the world. However, any cook should know how to correctly prepare fresh mussels, prawns and various other seafood staples. The mussels and prawns in my risotto were so overcooked hardly anything was left of them in their shells. The risotto itself completely lacked flavour or expected creaminess. The other dish, clam linguine was better but still so far from expectations. We have travelled throughout Italy many times and unfortunately this was the only meal we have ever had that didnt meet our expectations. Great location and premises. Hopefully the cook will leatn how to correctly prepare...

Locale carino.Personale gentile.Primo piatto spaghetti alla vongole e ricci di mare era salato e ricci di mare sono stati invisibili per il gusto e per l'occhio.Il piatto non merita i suoi costi ugualmenre come e antipasto di bruschette (5 crostini 3 con marinato salmone,tonno e alici sono piaciuti,con pesce spada affumicata e seppiolini non grande che). Tonno alla bracce di una cottura media (per scelta mia) era buono ma di nuovo troppo sale! Frittura di pesce (calamari e gamberoni) un piatto abbondante e edibile. Piaciuti vino bianco di casa.

Обратили внимание на закусочную при парковке машины и решили пообедать.Встретили дображелательно и предложили выбрать столик по желанию. Обслуживание достаточно быстрое,но вместо 1/4 вина принесли 0,5... Белое домашнее вино оказалось отличного качества. Не хотелось начинать с замечаний,что одна из вилок не сияла чистотой и просто обошлись одной,благо заказанные блюда позволяли. Закуска из 5ти небольших гренок неоправданно дорогая на мой взгляд(три с семгой тунцом и анчоусами еще ничего,понравились). Первое блюдо спагетти с моллюсками и морскими ежами(speghetti alla vongole con ricci di mare)было пересоленым и заявленные морские ежи, не ощущались ни на вкус ни визуально,хотя шеф,принесший тунец, пытался убедить нас в присутствии в тарелке этого ингредиента...Спорить не стали,не хотелось портить настроение.Но состав блюда (а соответственно и вкус не тот) не соответствовал заявленному в меню! Второе блюдо, тунец на гриле (tonno alla braccia) было бы на отлично,но опять эта соль! Видимо шеф повар влюблен :) Рыбное фри ассорти было щедрым но состояло всего из кальмаров и 4х креветок. В целом,наелись,но...
