Palazzo Ranucci — Restaurant in Tuscania

Every two years or so i need to update my review as the place keeps on changing. There have been multiple owners and 'concepts' oer the past 15 years- unfortunately it seems difficult to create a great, sustainable restaurant business here.

The place has the best terrace and view in Tuscania. There is no doubt about it. We were here in July '24 and enjoyed the view and the sunset from 8-9pm.

Unfortunately they did not offer an a la carte menu but only an 'apero cena', which means a buffet of snacks including 1 drink, for €20 per person.

The food was nothing the be exited about. Some fried foods (suppli, rice balls, etc), some cold cuts and cheese, meat balls, focaccia. A few other dishes as well that were forgettable. The drinks were fine, but again, nothing special.

I remember 15 years ago when this was the best restaurants in town, with the best view in town. The view hasn't changed, but now it's the kind of experience you do once, take some pics, but you won't come back for return visits. A real shame, as it has so...

un esperienza orribile, il peggior Capodanno di sempre. ho prenotato per capodanno su consiglio di un amico che mi aveva detto che era stato benissimo l'anno prima e che si mangiava in maniera eccelsa, la realtà è che invece è stato un vero incubo, abbiamo pagato 110 euro a persona per mangiare un polpo arrosto freddo e gommoso, davvero tremendo, 4 agnolotti salatissimi (ma perlomeno non erano freddi) e un orata arrosto (non dico un sampietro ma un orata, per 110 euro, roba che al mercato del giovedì te la tirano dietro), perlomeno speravamo nel buon nome del ristorante invece tranne il primo che si salvava e il dolce (quello era buono) il resto era davvero orribile, il menù bambini poi è stata la ciliegina sulla torta, 55 euro per un pezzo di lasagna orrenda, assaggiata anche da noi perché che mio figlio l'ha lasciata dopo il primo boccone e abbiamo poi capito il perché, un petto di pollo fritto e contorno di patate surgelate mccain chef gourmet (giuro su tutto quello che ho che erano quelle non sto scherzando, guardate la foto). a mezzanotte per concludere in bellezza la cena si brinda sulla terrazza con spumante da 1.50€, panettone del discount e lenticchie che uno può pensare "impossibile fare male le lenticchie" e invece pure quelle erano impietose, stracotte e sfatte manco fossero per una vecchia senza denti, assurdo, se questa è la qualità mi chiedo come facciano a parlarne bene, davvero ORRIBILE, A MAI...
