This is not a fancy place but let not yourself be fooled by appearances. The food is exceptional: the insalata di mare is served warm, cooked very well, nothing is gummy or over.

The fritto misto is not one bit oily, and again cooked extremely well. The impepata di cozze is really tasty and so is the pasta with cozze and pecorino, a combination I had never tried before. The tuna steak was so tender it was melting in my mouth. And to finish up, a nice big juicy, soft baba'.

You need a reservation: we went on a wednseday and we had to reserve a few days in advance, and still they only had a table...

A great little place, a little off the beaten track where the locals eat. Friendly service and fantastic food. The spaghetti cozze e pecorino was recommended by a friend. Strange, as Italians would never put parmesan on seafood. My husband had spaghetti alle vongole - a little bit spicy. Peggiorato assai. Una volta era un luogo spartano, dove mangiare pesce ad un prezzo contenuto. Il posto è rimasto lo stesso, nessuna miglioria. In una serata invernale il locale è freddo. Apparecchiamento è rimasto spartano, sempre con tovagliette di carta. Le porzioni sono abbondanti, ma hanno perso un po' di sapore. L'insalata di mare, semplicemente bollita con qualche verdurina ( per di più sedano). L'impepata di cozze, molto voluminosa, ma veramente abbondante di pepe, a coprire il sapore delle cozze. Servita senza nessun crostino. L'acqua di cottura è rimasta nel tegame. Passiamo alla frittura di paranza. Una volta era uno dei motivi principali per cui venivo in questo locale. La porzione è sempre abbondante, ma unta, poco croccante con pochi crostacei. Il dolce, il cestino di crema al mascarpone, l'idea poteva essere buona, ma se il mascarpone non ti monta, non si può servire una crema liquida. Infine il prezzo. Se si ordina meno porzioni rispetto ai commensali, ci si aspetta un prezzo più contenuto. Invece abbiamo pagato come se avessimo ordinato ogniuno la sua porzione.
