Have you ever been falsely accused of planting a hair in restaurants? Well, here you might be, if you find a hair. How to loose money, offend client and get a bad review in 30 seconds. Guide below. We, unfortunately, found a hair in one of the dishes. A reasonable expectation is that a high-class restaurant would offer a completely free dinner (which I would refuse) or at the absolute minimum to take the dish out of the bill. Instead of doing either of those, the restaurant offered a discount on coperto, 6 eur. When I pointed that out and said that I am not paying for a dish that we couldn’t finish (only 30% was eaten), the owner came up to me and in a very passive-aggressive manner explained that they have no-one in the kitchen with hair like this, and when I asked him whose hair he thinks it is (because it didnt match nor mine neither my wife’s hair), he said that he doesn’t know but its not theirs, implying that we planted the hair on purpose. When I attempted to discuss this further to get to the bottom of the situation he said that ‘client is always right’ and that we don’t need to pay. When I told him that I still want to pay for the rest of the meal he said he is the owner and ‘bye’, basically telling me to leave and refusing to speak further. Even if the owner is certain that the hair did not come from the kitchen, there are other places it could come from, for example the produce supply chain. So immediately concluding that clients have planted the hair on purpose is just a bad way to do business. Especially when he can see that the hair doesn’t match the colour or length of client’s hair. Of course the staff and manager have the right to believe anything they want, however they better be damn certain before they point fingers. And in this case they were wrong, and got 1 star for their handling of the situation. Now about the food, for the avid reader who is still with me. The tasting appetisers were below my expectations, however the flavour profile was interesting and the combination of flavours in some of the dishes was creative and bold. This dish is 4/5 The hake and ricotta ravioli were amazing - 5/5 The gnocchi with lobster were also good (until the hair was found) - 4.5/5 The dessert was very interesting, unfortunately I don’t know the name but it was the one with rum. Overall, the food, atmosphere and service were 5 star, and I was planning to leave this place a 5 star even despite finding the hair, until they decided to throw the disrespect of blaming me. Anyway, if you don’t mind the owner’s ego, I would still recommend this place. For my fellow eaters who don’t accept being blamed for something they didn’t do - please avoid.

Make Reservations. This was the closest restaurant to where we were staying, but it was highly recommended by the couple running the apartment we started at. Seemed like more locals come here to eat then the tourists so it was nice. Place filled up pretty quick and the servers came over to explain the menu to us. After some recommendations from them we decided on a few dishes to share. One of the dishes was a pasta that is a traditional Viareggio dish which was amazing. Actually everything we ate was amazing. The server told us it was his family run business and his mother is the one that cooks in the kitchen. Highly recommended to try out this restaurant if in Viareggio. Excellent food, service and great atmosphere.

It was an unreal adventure into the world of taste pleasures! The pasta carbonara and ravioli were absolutely great, but we were blown away by the appetizer tasting. The service deserves special praise - the friendly staff left a pleasant aftertaste. Be sure to reserve your seats in advance, and also be aware of small changes in menu selection and prices. To summarize, this place is an absolute must-have of the Italian coast, to which you want to return again and again! Bravo!

We had a very disappointing experience at pinot bistro di mare. First of all, there were significant discrepancies between the prices listed on the menu and what we were actually charged at payment. Several items were considerably more expensive than stated on the menu, which is completely unacceptable. This gives the impression of being deceived and is not what I expect from a professional restaurant.

Additionally, the waiting time was extremely long. We had to wait over an hour for our main courses, with no explanation or apology from the staff. Even after the food finally arrived, we had to wait a long time for drink refills and dessert.

The service was generally poor. The staff was inattentive and seemed uninterested in providing a good experience. We repeatedly had to try to get the waiters' attention for simple things like ordering more drinks or getting the bill.

I do not recommend pivot bistro di mare to anyone looking for an enjoyable and hassle-free dinner. There are many other places that offer better service and reliable pricing. Even...
