WORST EXPERIENCE SINCE I CAME TO ITALY I came to Venice to have a lovely time with my family, to visit , to sightsee.Sunday morning we wanted to explore around further and get to know the small islands better. First we made a stop in Murano, it was great, the atmosphere was great, everything was great. Further on we came to Burano. Lovey island we really enjoyed the wheater and the architecture is one of a kind. Tired and thirsty we came across this place “In Pescaria Vecia”. Pretty close to the water and it was empty so we decided to stay here. First we thought of moving the tables(we are 8 people) but the staff said no, apparently they are not allowed bcs they are taking walking space, even tho there is plenty. We were ok with it and sat at different tables, in the sun(around 2 pm), it’s understandable. After that we decided to take a look at the menu, nothing appealing they dont even have fresh juice to cool off. The food and the drinks came, mixed, they mixed up the orders. We slightly moved the chairs to hide from the sun, and we werent the only ones. The owner came shouting and SCOLDING their OWN CLIENTS. We apologised for the inconvenience and tried to explain that we were just hot. She didnt care. We didnt appreciate it and made it clear that we dont like the service here. She became more agitated and furious then before and asked us where we are from(why does it matter shouldn’t you treat all your clients the same way?). I asked her to give me her own name to give her an accurate review. She refused and yelled that she is the owner of the place… So overall if you want to have a good time in Burano I suggest you to avoid this place. Its not worth ruining your day for a...
Read morePescaria Vecia in Burano is a true local treasure and one of the best places to enjoy authentic Venetian cicchetti in a charming, colorful setting. Tucked away from the more touristy spots, this cozy and traditional osteria offers a warm and friendly atmosphere where you can truly experience the flavors of Venice.
We tried a delicious selection of cicchetti—small bites like baccalà mantecato, marinated sardines, and crostini with local seafood—and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Paired with a glass of local wine, it was the perfect stop during our walk through Burano’s picturesque streets.
If you’re looking for a genuine Venetian food experience in Burano, Pescaria Vecia is a must-visit. Great prices, welcoming service, and an authentic taste of traditional cicchetti in Venice—highly recommended for food lovers and anyone exploring the...
Read moreI wish to express my disappointment with the negative experience we had at your establishment. After purchasing a bottle of water, my group and I asked to use the restroom for two young ladies. However, we were met with an extremely rude comment from the staff: "Don't think you can have five people use the restroom by paying for just one bottle."
I find the tone and content of this statement unacceptable, as it not only shows a lack of respect towards customers but also a poor understanding of good hospitality practices. We were treated with a rudeness that we would never have expected to encounter in a place that should instead guarantee a minimum of courtesy and...
