A Dismal Ordeal Masquerading as Dining — An Open Letter of Contempt
I scarcely have the words—though I will summon them—to articulate the sheer level of disappointment, frustration, and indignation I experienced at this so-called establishment. What was intended to be a pleasant meal turned swiftly into a masterclass in incompetence and insult.
To begin: One full hour we waited for our food. Not in a bustling, packed to the rafters hotspot where one might begrudgingly accept such a delay. No, this was a mostly empty, eerily quiet restaurant where staff far outnumbered guests. And yet, despite this glaring advantage in logistics, we were met with an abyss of inactivity, mismanagement, and total disregard for our time.
When we dared to inquire about our meal, we were not met with apologies, nor even the hollow shell of courtesy. Instead, we were treated with a rudeness so casual, so practiced, that it bordered on performance art. The staff, to put it plainly, behaved as though serving us was an affront to their very existence condescending, dismissive, and imbued with a galling sense of indifference.
And then at last the food arrived. A triumph? Hardly. What we received were insultingly small portions of utterly unremarkable fare, the sort of uninspired culinary attempt that might pass at a poorly reviewed airport kiosk. The price, however, was no small matter: a bill so exorbitant it seemed to suggest we had just dined at an exclusive chef’s table rather than a place that barely managed to reheat mediocrity.
To say this experience was disappointing would be a gross understatement. It was infuriating, demoralizing, and frankly, offensive. I left not only hungry, but astonished that such an operation dares call itself a restaurant.
In summary: appallingly slow service, abhorrent attitudes, laughably small portions, and prices that border on larceny. I would not return if offered a complimentary meal—and certainly not if I valued my time, money, or self-respect.

Read moreNice setting so we decided to have dinner at Roxy’s Bar. We ordered the house lasagne and spaghetti carbonara. The size and quality of the food was rather mediocre though. The more negative experience happened however when I paid with credit card and the staff automatically chose the option with more expensive currency conversion though I wanted to pay in Euro. I wasn’t even given an option to choose or cancel and the owner was extremely unfriendly when I complain d layer on and mentioned it was not fair to force customers into such scheme. If I would have known before (like the 10% mandatory service fee which was at least mentioned in the menu) I would have opted to pay cash. Such hidden fees and unfriendly customer service only deserve a one star rating. The other nights we dined at great restaurants with super friendly staff at the side street along the little canal and the food and service experience (also payment in Euro with the credit card was OK as usual) was awesome so we can highly recommend such other options...
Read moreThe place caught our attention while on vacation in Lido. I ordered a "burger of the day" which came with a defrosted meat and a bun that was soaked in some liquid and so soft it was impossible to lift it off of the plate. We were told the juice was fresh and were brought juice from a glass bottle. The menu states that payments with credit card are only accepted when over 20€ and when we tried to pay with a debit card, they argued and insulted us saying that credit cards and debit cards are the same. The owner wanted to charge us the "credit card tax" and even called someone to ask how much it was. Very unfriendly and all for overpriced low quality food. Don't be fooled...
