What sets Trattoria Dai Tosi apart is the genuine authenticity of its staff and the simplicity of its offerings. 30 years in business serving mostly locals in the Castello district. Whenever I visit Venice, I find myself drawn back to this wonderful place. One of the things I particularly enjoy is their refreshing green spritz (called Laguna maybe?), a delightful twist on a classic venetian drink. Side note other venetian drinks: Bellini, spritz Select, spritz Cynar…
What truly impresses me about Trattoria Dai Tosi is how well they treat my children and their friends. The staff goes out of their way to make them feel welcome and comfortable, creating a family-friendly atmosphere that is hard to come by in a city often overrun by tourists.
Another aspect that I appreciate is the fact that the staff can communicate in both French and English, making ordering and bantering effortless. I love the banter ❤️ They provide a genuine and down-to-earth experience that truly captures the essence of Italian hospitality. Trattoria Dai Tosi remains true to its roots, offering a simple and authentic dining experience.
In summary, I highly recommend it. Whether you're looking for a relaxing drink, a family-friendly atmosphere, Dai Tosi delivers it all without any...
Read moreEat Here! Just do it. We stayed at an airbnb rental just a minute walk away from this restaurant and it was recommended to us by our host and it was the BEST food we ate while in Venice. I had the ravioli and my husband had a pasta with meat sauce (I don't remember the dishes name though) and we shared a half litre of their house red wine. The food was incredible, home made pasta with delicious fresh ingredients and the house wine was fantastic. The price was very reasonable as well! Prior to this we had our fair share overpriced, touristy food while wandering the sites in Venice and were very disappointed as we were excited to try authentic, delicious, Italian food that everyone talks about eating while visiting Italy. We had almost given up on finding that in Venice until we ate here. The wait staff may seem a little harsh or unfriendly at first, however I think that was because of how busy they were, but after talking to them for a few minutes they opened right up and we felt right at home eating here. I only wish we had found this place sooner so I could have tried more of their...
Read moreWe discovered this restaurant while we were exploring the Castello neighborhood one afternoon and decided to come back for supper. They open at 7 and we arrived at 7:03 to find they were fully booked for the evening. Nevertheless they managed to find us a table somehow and we enjoyed a fantastic meal with very friendly and personable service. The mixed salad was plenty to share, followed by pizza. Though not Neapolitan style, they were very good and could be customized to our taste with the addition of extra toppings as we preferred. Prices were very reasonable (including wine and dessert) especially given how expensive Venice is overall, and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We felt that our business was genuinely appreciated and for our part it was the best dining experience we’ve had in Venice so far. We will probably eat here again as the pasta dishes that were coming out of the kitchen looked delicious also. My only suggestion is to make a reservation to be sure of...
