L'Osteria — Restaurant in Vieste

After strolling around the wonderful Centro Storico we've been a bit hungry. On the way back to the new part of town we passed this restaurant. Still lots of tables available, menu looked good and our Bulldog was welcome. So we decided to have our lunch here.

Staff was nice and friendly, prices fair. Location on a quiet street not far from the old town.

We ordered some Bruschetti (Burrata with anchovies), Seafood Spaghetti and Pasta w/ mashed pea sauce and bacon.

The Seafood Spaghetti were average. Ok, but not more. An unusual dish was the pasta with pea sauce and bacon. An unlikely mix, but works very well. Something we'll try to cook at home somewhen. Good stuff.

The best item was the Bruschetta. We've had anchovies with fresh cheese, with cream cheese. But never with Burrata. And that is a combination made in heaven. The milky, creamy Burrata combined with the saltiness of the anchovies. Fantastic.

All in all this restaurant is a good choice for a good meal....

Vieste is quite difficult for vegans but we found a really good attitude from the staff here. In particular, we enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients, the orchietti with turnip tops - a typical dish of the area, and the special vegan sandwich they made. We would return for a light and delicious lunch where veganism is...

Premetto che ho dato 4 stelle perché nel caos di gente a Vieste può succedere che una serata non vada tutto per il verso giusto e lo spiego. I troccoli allo scoglio. Ordinati due piatti di cui uno praticamente era una mezza porzione. Abbiamo fatto osservare ad più di un cameriere la cosa ma hanno fatto finta come se fosse una cosa normale per giunta la cameriera ( la più adulta) che ha preso le nostre ordinazioni non ci si è proprio filati. A detta dei miei amici il sapore era buono anche se scarso di condimento un paio cozze e di gamberi il prezzo 15 euro non li valeva assolutamente. Ho preso la papascia con i frutti di mare, ottimo l'impasto deludente il ripieno, praticamente un'insalata di mare senza olio. Sinceramente mi aspettavo un condimento tipo zuppa di pesce, colpa mia perché avrei dovuto chiedere. Bruchette ottime, caciocavallo e troccoli alle vongole buoni. Questa è stata la mia prima ed ultima esperienza in questo ristorante. Indifferenza...
