Box 19 — Restaurant in Vieste

Horrendous experience, never again , first they sat as outside when a person of the group said that is quite nice inside and he could sit as in the owner said well there is nice sky out ,even after saying we quite like it inside he did not accept our choice, we started to order he missing lots of things like the following : beer , chips for the kids etc. We had to call the waiter so many times back he did not have a clue what he was doing at one point he wanted to being the 2nd type of food and we said what about the 1st . Towards the end of the dinner the other waiters started to fold tables and chairs and we was still sitting . When we gone to pay we said to the owner to treat as well and he said what do you mean , we said a situation with the waiter and he said if it was for him (the owner) he wont even sit us down but he's wife wanted as to stay , insted of apologise for the behaviour of the waiter he was worse then him , wife you could see in her eyes she was a nice person . If you dont belive me have a go if in the area and hopefully you wont get that treatment...

We found this excellent restaurant walking back to our hotel from the harbour. The exterior looks relatively modest with an enclosed Alfresco area out front but go inside, and it goes back a long way.

The interior was cool on a very hot day and is nicely decorated. Given the number of clearly local diners, we anticipated it would be good and we were not let down. My seafood risotto was one of the best that I have ever had!

The menu has a good range which covers nearly everyone's requirements and the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient.

We sat for our dinner quite early compared to Italian folks (maybe we started our dinner at 21:00) Early by Italian standards. We decided we had chosen the right restaurant as one by one, each table filled up surrounding us. We noted that the other neighboring ( outdoor seating) restaurant had nary a customer! So, we enjoyed a beautiful bottle of wine, antipasti, primi and secondi plates, desserts, 2 espresso coffees to round out the dining experience. Total, 86 Euros.
