It started off great. A warm welcome by the owner, who helped us pick a lovely wine. First course was nice, we shared the Gnocci with basil and cheese. It’s then where the service fell apart. The main course got served, while the plates from the first course were still on the table. Not ideal, but everyone makes mistakes. We had the veal with lemon sauce and the roasted meat. Both were fine, just as expected in a fish restaurant. It’s here were the service went completely off. The waitress started cleaning up tables outside and right next to us, while our finished plates were standing there for a good 5 minutes already.
We went out for a smoke and when we got back, the plates were still there. After more than 15 minutes I had to ask the waitress if she could maybe clean our table and hand us the dessert menu. That’s the 1 star for service. So much room for improvement on this part.
The dessert however was great! The chocolate cake named “cake caprese” was absolutely amazing. Somewhere between a sponge and a brownie. Kudos for this dish.
After waiting another 10 minutes with clearly finished dessert plates we went to the registry ourselves and paid.
This restaurant doesn’t deserve 4 stars as it has right now. If they fix the service, they could get somewhere between a 3 and 3,5 tops.
For now with pain in my heart a bad review regarding the service. Hope they see this and try to improve...
Read moreThe young female waiter with light brown hair and eyeliner was super rude and unwelcoming. Didn’t acknowledge us, no smile. Asked several times for balsamic vinegar, was told “no” and walked away. I’m pretty sure this exists in the kitchen.
I had the seafood salad which was incredibly bland and lacked variety. My partner had the peppered mussels which were all undersized drowned in hot water.
Might sound picky but compared to other restaurants 20 meters down the path and other places in Italy, this was by far the most disappointing and underwhelming. Spend your money elsewhere. Plenty of other restaurants worth spending...
Read moreThis restaurant was AMAZING! If you want to get away from the crowds, tourist traps and bad quality food this restaurant is highly recommended. Not only do you get good value for your money but you get amazing food and ambiance. We were hosted by a very lively italian, I assume he was the owner. He gave us recommendations and showed us the fish he would be cooking, we had a san pietro, which was FRESH and delicious. We also had the tipical amalfi coast gnoccis, "alla sorrentina", and some limoncello spritz. Vietri sul mare was definitely one of the highlights of my amalfi coast visit and certainly because of...
