La Beccheria — Restaurant in Vinci

This restaurant, which was recommended to us by our accommodation did not live up to the hype unfortunately. The staff was literally running and jumping around the restaurant, which gave it a bit of a chaotic vibe. We waited about half an hour after being seated for a menu, and had to ask one of the waiters for one as we had been forgotten about. The Bruschetta I ordered was fine, but the lasagne was not heated all the way through and was cold in the middle. My partner's charcuterie board and main course were very nice. They forgot his drink and we needed to remind the waiter about it.

While the restaurant was busy on a Sunday night the waiters found time to chat to some locals who were there so they weren't so busy to excuse us being forgotten about. Trusting the overall 4.7rating, we made a reservation at “Vinci”, also known as “La Beccheria”. When we arrived and asked one of the many waiters if we were at ristorante Vinci, he said he never heard of it, only when we pushed he found our reservation. The table was on the “terrace”, a table on the street where normally cars park. We didn’t really mind, was a bit couleur locale. I choose pasta with ragu guancia di vitello. The pasta I got served was overcooked and the ragu was not as tasty as I expected. Dolci (Tiramisu) was ok but portions very small. Gosh, this place is magical, for real!

Basically i’m a gastronomic journalist, who always wants to try new and new places when traveling, but it was a different feel, when we first arrived to La Beccheria.

Spent a whole week in Lamporecchio nearby, we always returned night by night. Exept Tuesday, when they’re closed.

The staff is incredibly welcoming, sweet and quick, but the food.

Try everything you hungry traveller! From tartares to the tripe salad, from ravioli to veal cheek! And dont forget the tiramisu!
