Morning Bowls — Restaurant in Chatan

There was a very long line to order & when I finally got to the counter they told me they were letting the people with a baby order before me. I asked why & they said that’s just what they do. Nevermind the fact that they had just gotten out of their airconed car & were now standing inside in the aircon, while my husband & dog were outside in the sweltering heat. So they ordered & then I was able to. I went back outside to wait with my husband & dog in a real feel of 99°, while the people with the baby again went and sat in their aircon. Their food came up & the 2 people behind me had their orders called. As soon as I saw this I went inside & asked where my food was & they had purposely not called my food order out of spite & had it pushed to the side ready to go and just melting. & then tried to play it off when I came in asking about my food. Letting people with babies go first might be great in theory, but take all factors into consideration. They have the opportunity to wait & stay inside, while those of us with dogs have to keep them outside in almost 100° weather. And then to purposely not call me for my food bc I asked why they should go first while my family was overheating outside????? Ridiculous. You’ve lost a...

Price keeps going up and the bowls keep getting smaller. They used to be double the size and ok for the price. Now they are tiny.

Edit: Took off one star for being randomly closed. Two times in a row I came to the store for my short lunch break and they were closed. Once was a Tuesday or Wednesday…..today was a Thursday. I checked their social media and nothing. Not worth going on a week day, as I wasted my whole lunch driving there and back to work. Not worth it on a weekend as they are too busy. Sad cause I really like the place.

Absolutely incredible!!!! My co-worker suggested it for lunch. I had never heard of it and tend to not go to American style places around base. So glad I did this time. I got a poke bowl with ahi and salmon; avocado and jalapeño, topped with Hawaiian spicy sauce. Man was it good. Also got the Ocean Bowl which was also amazing.

I've ordered from this place more than anywhere else since I arrived in Okinawa. It's that good. The salmon poke with spice Hawaiian is my favorite and it's not really spicy but it tastes amazing. Even having it delivered, it's always fresh, the bowls are never sloppy and all the flavors really come through separately while working together for an amazing tasting bowl. The staff are very friendly and helpful and if you don't speak Japanese, don't worry, you'll still be able to get any questions answered and order exactly what you want. It's a small place so there might be a line but they get everyone taken care of quickly. I mean, even if you had to wait a little bit, it's worth it!
