Lumbini — Restaurant in Chiba

We selected Lumbini as our Indian food joint because it had 4 star rating in Google and 10 mins walking distance from our hotel Sunroute. It took some time for us to locate as the restaurant is not clearly seen. It is located on level 2. We ordered mix veg pakora, chicken tikka masala, onion kulcha & garlic naan for 2 people. The quantity was just right. Food took almost 30 mins to arrive. Salt was on the lower side. Chicken Tikka masala was boneless and tasty. Service was good. Located a 7 to 8 mins walk from the Chiba station this is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in Japan. The menu spread is really good offering enough to vegetarians and meat lovers alike. Nice choice of beer - got to sample the Taj Mahal beer which otherwise not easy to find in India. The food is yum and they offer about 8 to 10 types of flavoured lassi. So for those in the Chiba prefecture craving for Indian food - Lumbini is probably your best choice. 4 stars? Really? The tandoori chicken and shrimp was old, hard and mushy. An Indian woman started sweeping the floor and hit a floor rug in the same room while we were eating, scattering dust particles into the air. Horrible manners.
