Really disappointed, too expensive for what it is, the tacos were frankly average with a notion of wanting to save on ingredients ... No avocado in a Mexican is like a car without an engine ...
The basic salad was ok, the mojito tasteless well if a little with peppermint which is not the mint use in real mojito ...
We ordered 2 margarita's one with Lemon and the other with strawberry with a real beautiful strawberry on the top of the glass which appears proudly in the photo but no strawberry at all in real one ! Ok it was not the season... But you know what? The 2 margarita's that should be taste different had the exact same horrible flavor and very salty... To do well at the limit, they should serve the salt and the lemon apart and not mixing everything and badly dosed in it directly... Despite their trips to Mexico they maybe don't know ...
The service was slow and we had to call several times before we were heard.
Otherwise badly seated but the decor has the merit of being nice and warm, the various tabasco have saved the dishes, otherwise go your way it is...
Read moreVery cool restaurant as far as ambience and decor goes. They have vegan options here. I did not know this until after dinner but they have an actual vegan menu. I only found after talking to the owner. The waitress did not speak English so I just kept asking if specific items had Animal products in it.
I ordered a taco salad, vegetable soup and fries. They were out of tortillas when I got there. The vegetable soup was so good. It was an onion and potato soup. Owner said the veggies are from his own farm. Taco salad was great too! They have a taco bar, you can help yourself to all the trimmings of jalapeños, pickled carrots and onions, and million types of hot sauce. They also have a modelo on tap in which the owner got from the US.
Owner was super cool and friendly. He talked about his experience living in different parts of Mexico that influenced him to Open this restaurant.
I took a picture of the vegan menu. Recommend coming here for a good time...
Read moreIf you are a chili head like me this place is a MUST! Having lived in Mexico, I can’t say this is the best Mexican food of all time but we really enjoyed our meal (especially after summiting Fuji 🤪).
The ambiance is so charming and warm and we loved sitting at the bar and talking to the owner (who is from here but lived in Mexico City for a while and speaks Spanish).
What stands out is the amount of spicy things available. House made hot sauces, salsas, pickled jalapeños, etc. Apparently all the chilis are grown on the owners family farm and they are ATOMIC (take this from someone who eats habaneros, ghost peppers, and Carolina reaper on the reg).
You can request not spicy or however you like but it’s hard to find really spicy options in Japan and the options are abundant here.
Everything came out hot and felt like it was made with love. If you’re are craving Mexican or just want to do something different check...
