Yatai Bar Ebi-chan — Restaurant in Fukuoka

Maybe it was the cocktails and whiskeys we had but after we left this yatai, I had no idea where I was at! How in the world is such a cool cocktail bar on the street! It’s the speakeasy version of yatais and this team didn’t disappoint. With some great selections like Yoichi 10, all the big hitting 12s, and other national favorites this is a sippers paradise. But the creativity really shows with their seasonal cocktails and house recommendations. One offering that has me already thinking of coming back is their Ki No Tea cocktail. Using the Kyoto based gin, they created one of the most refreshing and interesting cocktails I’ve had in my life. Legit, I ordered a bottle on Amazon as I was drinking it in hopes of recreating it at home. It’s the extra attention to detail that made this experience out of this world, having some great appetizers and fresh cut ice cubes was a true mark of a world class...

Yatais demand a certain kind of casualness in the way they're set up. It becomes doubly hard to treat a serious bartender as such when he opens a yatai bar on the street. Such is not the case with Bar Ebi-chan.

The bar is set up as like a cozy speakeasy, where you feel like you're part of the elite few allowed into the bar, huddled together in a cramp yatai with flaps on its sides that keep it as intimate as you'd expect from a quaint cocktail bar. And yet, he stocks the bar up with world class spirits and offers a wide array of cocktails--not scrimping on the quality at that!

I ordered a sweet potato sochu negroni (not on his menu but it was recommended on another blog), though he suggested to use a sweet potato gin instead. Paired with sweet vermouth and a special bourbon-aged bottle of campari; and garnished with a kumquat. It's a drink I swear I will...

Have to try their おでん, the beef tail and others are very delicious. It's amazing that in such a tiny space they could do so much comparing to many other 屋台. They have many selections of alcohol and bartender is full of knowledge of his drinks.

I tried their Mojito, very fruity and I give 😋😋😋😋😋out of 5 because even though the bartender didn't put salt on the glass, it gave me a brand new...
