Fukuzushi — Restaurant in Furano

I came here around 4PM with my boyfriend after landing in Furano for a quick trip and it was a great dinner experience! The shop is located very close to Furano Station and has a cozy atmosphere. The server guided us to sit at these tatami rooms to eat our dinner, which we never did before so it was a cool experience! She spoke limited English, but her customer service was splendid and she made us feel very welcome ( ◠‿◠ ) We ordered two sets of their Jumbo nigiri and one Large bowl of their salmon roe/uni. Super, super delicious and fresh! The nigiri had lots of fish and plenty of rice to fuel ourselves from a long travel. They also have regular nigiri if you are not wanting to overdose on rice lol. Overall, I highly recommend everyone who visits Furano to give this place a try! This meal costed us ¥16830 (~USD 114), which is considered a great price for us (as something like this would cost a pretty penny...

This restaurant is famous for the Jumbo size sushi, so I tried to order one set of Jumbo size sushi. It costs ¥1800(without tax) but overall speaking, I don’t think it is worth it.

When I arrived at around 8pm, no one was at the counter and everyone looked busy. I waited a few minutes before a staff realized and lead me to the tatami seat. The staff serving me was very kind and passionate, she explained to me the size of the sushi and you can choose to have a normal size if you cannot finish the jumbo size. I waited for around 15 minutes before I get my sushi, and my legs started to feel itchy. I wonder if the tatami and cushions are clean.

Wanted to eat some sushi and this was the nearest to our hotel and had good reviews. Although server didn’t know English, tried very hard to communicate and help us with our orders. Think I over ordered a bit because I underestimated what they described as large sushi. It’s really huge and I struggled to eat each sushi in one mouthful (it’s like putting 2+ normal sized ones in your mouth). I’m not an expert but before ordering I found the price a bit expensive but upon eating it, I think it’s definitely worth it.
