We were so happy to discover this cozy gem of a pizza shop in Furano, serving authentic Neapolitan pizza—and not just in name. The restaurant proudly displays its official Neapolitan pizza certification (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana), a mark given only to pizzerias that meet strict standards for making traditional pizza as it's done in Naples, Italy. That alone sets the bar high—and they absolutely delivered.
The space itself was warm and inviting, with a mix of seating options: standard tables, a cozy low-table area, and bar seating that looks directly into the kitchen. We sat at the bar, and it was fascinating to watch the pizzaiolo in action—preparing the pizzas, placing them into the wood-fired oven, and handling everything with calm precision. It gave us a real appreciation for the craft behind each pizza.
We ordered the Margherita pizza, which had a beautifully blistered and aromatic crust, a light layer of vibrant tomato sauce, creamy fresh mozzarella, and a few well-placed basil leaves. Simple, but incredibly flavorful—exactly what a true Margherita should be.
We also tried their apple and honey pizza, which was a surprising delight. It featured thinly sliced apples, and a subtle drizzle of honey. The contrast of the warm, slightly caramelized apple against the crisp yet soft crust made it unforgettable.
Adding to the charm, the shop had some original merchandise featuring the adorable Zizi Cat, their mascot. We couldn't resist picking up a few pins to remember the visit. Cleanliness was top-notch—the whole place, including the bathroom, was spotless.
The staff were friendly and genuinely welcoming, making us feel right at home. If you're in Furano and want a true taste of Naples—crafted with care and served in a charming, relaxed setting—this place is an...
Read moreEverything about Zizi's Pizza demonstrates the overflowing love this family have for their craft, their customers, and of course for PIZZA! The pizza is out of this world delicious with a dough that has the perfect texture and ingredients that pop with flavor. The service was impeccable: explaining the menu and sizes, quick to help with advice or answer questions, and just friendly and personable overall.
They are vegetarian friendly with everything carefully labeled, and I got the half-half margherita and quattro formaggi (I definitely recommend it! I might get it again today!). We also had the orange chocolate dessert but plan to go back again to try more!
The kitchen is visible and you can see the wood burning oven where the magic happens, but also the extremely tidy work space, the basil growing in the corner, and the master chef at work.
The homey atmosphere combined with the legendary taste made this such a fantastic find in our minds that we are hanging around town an extra hour just so we can go back for lunch! I cannot recommend this place...
Read moreI went here for lunch for two in September 2022. The pizza was very good. The pizza tasted very good, we had Pizza Margherita Salsiccia and Pizza Diavolo. The pizza looked very good. It was very balanced, the ingredients were of high quality and unfortunately a bit expensive, but I can recommend the pizza at any time, it is one of the best pizzas in Hokkaido in my experience. I will come back. The only downside is restaurant interior is not that pretty the impression of the dining room is more like a living room restaurant with little space. there is a professional large pizza oven the service was friendly and quick. There is an interesting background story about...
