Tsutaya Sushi — Restaurant in Gero

Very good traditional sushi, no fancy stuff but fresh quality ingredient. We stop by for a quick bite in the afternoon, as snack. Suroise to find the sushi is amazing - the seafood sushi were all very fresh. Good food with little review is like hidden gem. The owner was very friendly and recommend us what to order and how to order as the menu are all in Japanese. But we have no problem at all with the help from him. Love it....

We came here based on Tortomi's (staff) of Suimeikan Ryokan as well as the positive reviews we read online. It's a no frills restaurant. The chef does not speak English but he is friendly and the menu is in English. We ordered the sushi omakase priced at 3300 yen per person and we enjoyed our dinner especially the different kinds of fish. However, the prawn was overcooked. This place is pricey compared to sushi places...

Weirdly enough, this was the best sushi we had during our trip to Japan! We got the hankering for some sushi after our wonderfuk soak at cure garden. But we were afraid that we couldn't find good sushi in the middle of the mountains.
