Went there to try the famous Hakodate Shio (salt) Ramen. The place is located conveniently next to the train station. You order via ticket machine, there's an English menu available. You can get the large size bowl upgrade free of charge. The ramen itself was nothing out of the ordinary for my taste. A relatively salty, not too fatty clear broth, yellow slightly overcooked noodles and not a lot of toppings. Some talk about subtle flavors, but I wonder how they manage to taste that considering the strong salty taste overlaying everything. The staff was nice, the prices still below the magical 1000y line. Overall not so impressive in my opinion, there is more exciting...
