Akira — Restaurant in Hakodate

This cafe is modern with an attractive vibe, and right by the Shiyakusho-mae tram stop. A great place to stop off for lunch or morning tea especially if you have the all-day tram pass. The food is well prepared and the coffee is good. The only down side for us was that it has smoking and non-smoking sections and they are not well separated. In the 25 mins we were there, just one older guy in the smoking area smoked three cigarettes, and the smell certainly drifted through to us on the non-smoking section. 10月3日利用。函館は初、なのでもちろんお店も初めて来ました。 まず店外から遠目に席が空いてるか分からなかったのでとりあえず入ってみたら若い？女性の店員に 「1名ですか？」 と聞かれ、

「はい。」と答えたら、 すかさず引きつった顔で 「消毒してもらってもいいですかー？」 とデカイ声で言われました。

いや別に消毒するのはいいが、 二重扉の手前左の方にアルコールとかが置いてあって、 入るのは右寄りの扉が開くので置いてあるの気付かないんだわ。

席が空いてるかも分からないので覗いてみたら、一旦追い出されたみたいな構図です。 というかデカい声で追い出されました。

とても悪い事をしたかの様な態度で言われてまず不愉快になりましたが、そういうのもたまたまだろうと思い気を取り直して店内へ。

アイスコーヒーはカップで出ましたがなかなか苦く、ゆっくり飲めました。ミルクとガムシロ入れるとまた違うあっさりほろ苦に変わり、見た目よりも量があるしそこは悪く無かったです。

隣の席のお客さん、 「ホットコーヒー下さい」と言ったらまたさっきの店員が引きつった顔で 「ホットコーヒーって言っても色々あるのでえ〜...

Got attracted by the coffee aroma. I had the mocha soft serve, the soft serve itself has an icy texture not the smooth soft serve usually found in hokkaido, however the coffee flavour is just right. I also had the coffee jelly, it was a bit too bitter for me. Staff spoke perfect english and noticed they were sorting coffee beans by hand and roasting in shop hence the lovely coffee aroma.
